With the entire state of Illinois going down the crapper financially, I couldn't imagine that this is a place where he plans on staying at in the long term. I always thought we were able to lure Neilson and crew away from Western because of that instability. For Yelk, it's most likely a raise in pay, FBS exposure and he'll be hoping to move up the ladder again in a year or so. Such is the life of a college football coach. I hope he achieves his goals.

The most notable thing about Dekalb is the Dekalb Oasis. You have to love Illinois, if you live in DeKalb you have to pay for the only interstate access that connects you to the rest of the world. I-88 is a toll road.

Oh, I agree it's a stepping stone and I hope he has success and moves on from there. I just never miss an opportunity to get my shots in on the state of Illinois, or Missouri, for that matter. Not a fan of either place.

South Dakota should turn I-29 and I-90 into turnpikes. It would be so much fun to sit back and listen to the outrage. Maybe we could just charge out of staters?

People would go out for their freaking mind if they had to pay a toll to drive on roads here.
I-88 is desolate compared to I-80 from Iowa City to the Quad Cities. The traffic just diverts and avoids the toll road.
Toll roads are not good public policy, especially in urban areas, all it does is push traffic off the expressways and into the communities, results in an increase in congestion and in accidents. Drive in Chicago for a while then drive in another city, like the Twin Cities or Kansas City, and you'll understand what I am saying. I'm not saying the Twin Cities are perfect, actually it can be a nightmare at times, but remember when 169 was closed the past year and all that traffic diverted into Edina, Hopkins and other west metro suburbs, people were howling because the traffic was so bad on 100 and 494 and traffic was diverting onto the side streets. In Chicago, traveling the side streets is the norm.
Sometimes thread drift is good, and educational.

I'm going to quickly regret that decision otherwise.

Anyone know if Ray Dixon applied for a medical redshirt? I believe that is a possibility even though he used a redshirt already.

Spring practice begins a week from Saturday at the Sanford Fieldhouse in Sioux Falls. Went to this last year. Was fun to see the team in action again.
College football can't come soon enough.
