i agree. I have many friends that attended SDSU and they are loud and proud about their school and athletic teams when talking to casual/non grads. I act the same. It won't be easy but with the teams in the same conference(s) we won't have to purely speculate.

In terms of playing at SDSU, remember, the game the next year will be in Vermillion. While you guys might seem WRONGED by all of this, remember USD had to play TWO games at UNI before the Panthers returned to the Dome, so I think USD is in a better situation too.
In terms of bball, the USD-SDSU games in the Dome got moved from Christmas break to a time when everyone can make it.
In terms of the CAS sucking, I will say this, USD is bringing in new seats so that helps, but CAS's frozen field isn't much worse than the crappy Dome carpet honestly. So, it's not like the Dome is so much better than CAS at times. Plus you can't get me on outdoor football in Nov. I love that lol.

Really excited to know that this game is finally scheduled. I will definitely try to get back for this game -if not in Brookings - Vermillion most definitely!
Hate State!

Why in Brookings? They get the first girls basketball game, the first men's bball game, now the first football game. Why do we think we owe them anything? Why would any of you think this is right? im sure sdsu requested it so they could have ndsu and usd at home on opposite years. and since sdsu has been a member for a while, they should get it. there isnt a lot that makes you happy, is there?

Not much.
It's no secret I don't like State and I don't think we should back down or give ground to them on anything. Not even where this game gets played first. We should go back to the Summit and ask to have the basketball games switched so we can have the opening doubleheader. Notice how when SDSU comes to USD for basketball now the games are split.

So, in doing some research, I found out the last SDSU-USD game was played at the DakotaDome. So I don't know why there are people upset the game is going to be played at the CAS. Honestly, if the last game was played at the Dome, shouldn't the next game be played at the CAS? Isn't that how it would work out anyway....just saying this isn't something to get bent out of shape about.

I see your point about games being split and this affects me as I live in Piere. I also look at the move as smart for USD. a) the double header was scheduled over xmas break b) a double header results in one ticket sold for two games c) the first year games will (should) be heavily attended (see single womens game in Brookings last year) d) two separate nights = two very well attended games and more overall tix sold. Of course there are downsides but I try to look at the positive.

No kidding. It is amazing how bent out of shape some people get about stupid things but they are the 1st to turn around and push the limits of heckling themselves. Those shirts were classic!

Since this is a football thread, I guess I will remind the Yote faithful that SDSU won the last game played in Vermillion in 2003
SDSU 22 - USD 11

I remember that game. I don't remember any of the players or coaches on our current squad being on the field for that game. Coach Ed was still in Wisconsin and even our oldest players were about 12 years old. Don't see any reason the past should have a bearing on the turnout of this game. It will have been 9 years, after all.
