I remember that game. I don't remember any of the players or coaches on our current squad being on the field for that game. Coach Ed was still in Wisconsin and even our oldest players were about 12 years old. Don't see any reason the past should have a bearing on the turnout of this game. It will have been 9 years, after all. In order to post people should have to register for this board, IMO. It's not total flame protection but keeps it to a minimum if you have to register in order to troll. Mandated registration has its pros and cons. For people just passing through, i.e., random fan of a non-conference team that wants to inject his or her two cents, registration, though really not that burdensome, can seem a hassle. I'd rather encourage those people to offer their thoughts. The benefits of registration, of course, are numerous. But I'd rather let people make up their own minds on that. If we start to encounter too many "drive by" agitators, their IP Address, which is available to moderators, may be blocked.

Good to know. The reason our last board blew up was because we were inundated by flamers the week of the Minnesota game last fall. As long as somebody is on the job (I know you guys are) everything should be ok.
Was it just me or was JFR's post only meant to flame. It added nothing to the discussion. Go on SDSUfans and post the score and date of their game with D3 UW-Lacrosse a few years ago, see what the reaction is. I would bet the post gets deleted and the poster either gets warned or suspended.

No, it wasn't just you. Not a fan of non registration myself but that is just me and there are pros and cons to both. Registration takes two minutes, keeps trolls away, forces other fans to become member(s) and drives member total up, in a sense makes people feel invested.

Since this is a football thread, I guess I will remind the Yote faithful that SDSU won the last game played in Vermillion in 2003 SDSU 22 - USD 11 state makes shirts as well, they are usually lame and all they can think of is 'screw the u' i was at this game also in 2003. this is when our cb dwight anderson got suspended (who played in the nfl and is now playing in the cfl. he was an all star in 2010. here is a cool article about him www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/alouettes-put-money-where-mouth-is/article1909958/) its funny bc some of my best friends played w him and they called him snap bc he would just go off at any time. anyways, he was suspended so a freshman chris reid had to start at cb and if i remember correctly sdsu had two td passes of over 50 yards on him. not sure if we would have won with anderson but would have helped. long story short, i dont care if i get heckled i will wear that shirt proudly!

Good points, all well taken regarding registration. My opinion is swaying toward making it a requirement. Perhaps the board creator is prepared to make an executive decision?

Yotemeal, if you know where that is to make it a requirement to register, go for it. I am not the most computer savvy at times so I think I may have missed it or something, but I am all for registering first.
I just tried it, and I put guests must register, but they can't see the board at all unless they sign-up. I will put a poll up here in a bit to see if people want me to make them sign-up to even see the board.
I do have to say, the people who got the board shut down where registered though, but they would've been banned under yotemeal and I.

It is amazing with a winning overall historical record and a better playoff history that USD can be looked upon as inferior to SDSU but it's the truth. Even when USD was basically even with SDSU over much of the 90's in basketball SDSU was still considered the stronger program. If USD wants the respect they are going to have to take it to the Jacks in a big way. They need to own superiority in the major sports and get more consistant in the lesser known sports as well.

The dark dark days of the BTA administration still rears its ugly head. Things are headed in the right direction. Nielson did a great job digging us from a major abyss and Sayler is taking it to the next level. We have to live with that somewhat recent past but should focus on the direction we are headed.

Betty Turner Asher. I'm shaking my head right now. She set this University back at least 20 years. Jeez, what a waste. I went to school during her "leadership".
