I'm not positive, but I believe transfers have to be admitted into the school of choice, before they can technically and legally be announced as a commit. Hoping both are on the roster soon. I'm guessing Booker has already been admitted to USD.

Was at the signing day show at the OLC tonight, and in asking some coaches about the status of Devon Moore was told that he's definitely on board, has been accepted into USD and just need to get his final semester grades from Iowa State sent. He should be here on January 7th when second semester starts to take part in winter conditioning and spring ball. Really looking forward to see what he brings to the table. On another note, the other Iowa State QB transfer signed up with NDSU. Should be an interesting battle in Fargo to replace Stick.

yotesx2 is correct. USD couldn't formally announce moore because he hadn't been admitted yet.
Also, Gerst signed with UNI so lost out on him unfortunately.

Are you sure about Gerst to UNI. This still shows up on his Twitter page:

Can't find anything on the internet to confirm that... He is a former teammate of Devon Moore, Iowa St QB transfer.

I’m perplexed how NDSU can announce Zeb Noland transferring from Iowa State to them but we cannot with Moore.

I believe Noland left during the middle of the semester. If that is the case, there are no grades to wait for.

LOL usdyotes--you're a dip and obviously don't up from down about fb!! Go away.... You are right I know nothing. I won't be going away for good but remember this. I can guarantee I know more then all of you about football. I also know way more with what is going on with the program then all of you. You can bitch and moan about what I say but its all true. All of you pipe smokers need to look at the program without having your blinders on. Our rbs were horrible this year anyone coming in? The oline has not improved and your switching to a new defense. Its December and it doesn't look good already. But the spring game will come and go and All of you will predict a 11-1 or a 10-2 record. But by the end of the season you will be bitching about everything. I am gone for now but will be back. Merry Christmas

Can we please ban this guy? His embarrassing shtick has more than worn out its welcome, and if he ever returns it would be to kick us while we are down.
I like when those connected to the program chime in, but a spiteful parent isn't what I had in mind.

Has he switched positions since the new staff came in? Yes 4 times and they all were in the middle of the season, where injuries created a lack of depth. He can easily pick up the schemes, but the technique and nuances of each position takes a little time. Has he played and much as I wanted? No. Has he played as much as he wanted? No. But he has accepted each change with a spirit of "that's what my team needs from me." He has stayed positive and we all have supported the others on the team who were playing in front of him. I have not doubt that your son has had this type of attitude as well, I have heard nothing to indicate otherwise. Is your football IQ higher than everyone here? Maybe. Are you more connected to the program than everyone here? No. So, has my son's college career been what were dreaming ever since he started to get recruited? No, but we are damn proud parents, who has watched their son put himself through college and turn into an outstanding young man. When you come on here and act the way you do, you are diminishing what you have accomplished as a parent. I hope you get some time over Christmas break to spend with your son and come to terms with his path in life. Merry Christmas

I hope you get some time over Christmas break to spend with your son and come to terms with his path in life. Merry Christmas Yodayote, Thank you for that perspective from a parent. You are correct, if any parent is planning on their son getting a big NFL contract , then they made a poor choice in coming to USD or any other FCS school and they should have walked on at Alabama. The fact is these young men are fortunate already to be among the 1% of high school football players who get to play on a Division I program. Your expectations as a parent are correct, parents would all like to see their son start, be the star, or just play more. The reality is that this is a team full of former high school stars and the competition should be great. What they all get is the experience and the education (Which is top notch). They learn skills other students do not get that include teamwork, dedication and resiliency. The path is difficult as a college athlete, these young men have dedicated more hours than most. They often face disappointment and they learn to overcome and work for the success of the team over the individual. Yes, coaching changes can effect playing time and also result in position changes to help the team. Additionally, coaches are always looking to recruit their replacement and that can mean a freshman steps in and starts over a senior. The end result is young men. like your son, who are better prepared to be successful after graduation in whatever vocation they pursue. Additionally, the experiences they have are not like most college students and they build a lifetime of memories and relationships. Every parent that has a student be a part of the program for a single year or for their entire college career should be very proud and keep in perspective the fine young men they all become. Congrats to you and your son for all the the time and dedication he put in as a member of the Yote team! All parents should be so proud of their children. Merry Christmas!

Well said yodayote. The harsh reality of playing college football is it rarely turns out to be the way you envision it in your head when you are recruited. Things happen. Some good. Some not so good. In HS I played everything because when you’re from small town America and a decent athlete that’s what you do. I came to USD years ago under the plan that I would be the next awesome tight end for the Coyotes. Heck, I did it in high school I’ll do it in college. The reality was I couldn’t “ catch a cold if’s was wet and naked standing outside in a blizzard”. I don’t know what happened. I thought I had soft hands but they turned to bricks. So due to an injury on the other side of the line I was moved to a different position. I got my rear end handed to me for a period of time but as yodayote points out, that’s what you do when your team needs you.
That’s exactly why playing football made my path in business so much easier. I learned there is no perfect scenario. You can plan for something based on prior history but you never know when a wrench will be tossed in that screws up your perfectly laid out plan. So you can sit and pout about it,or you can roll up your sleeves and start over with another plan and goal. And it’s likely that one will get derailed as well. But the point being when you persevere through life situations like that you grow from it. I didn’t ask my dad to fix it...I fixed it. And that’s how you learn and grow. I suspect both of your sons are better people today because of the growth they had. Was it perfect? Rarely is. But I will be eternally grateful that l learned those life long lessons in Vermillion when I did over 40 years ago. For me, it’s the greatest place to be during those formidable years when you’re truly getting ready to take on the world. I have zero regrets leaving my home state and coming to USD.
Merry Christmas coyote fans. And remember as much as we love football and other sports, it really only is a game.

Our boys are here to get an education and are blessed to compete in the SEC of the FCS. The level of competition and game will teach them life lessons that will benefit them long after they hang up their cleats for the last time.

The last few posts confirm that we actually do have some of the most knowledgeable and passionate people posting on this board. I was about to type "fans" instead of "people" right there but backtracked on that. The reason is that we have many former football players who post here. We're not "fans", we're Yotes, there's a difference. Your son, he's a Yote, and to many of us that's all we need to hear, those three words, "He's A Yote", and we instantly know what that means. He's one of us, he'll always be one of us.
