It's just getting started. Players are finding a way to manipulate this rule to their favor. Coaches thinking this was a great idea have to now be rethinking their stance. It will definitely have an affect on team depth.

Take the good with the bad. I’m indifferent.

And now immediately following his decision the QB who replaced is injured and Clemson is struggling mightily with Syracuse at home.

That's on Dabo. He ran off the kid who was 16-2 as a starter and saved them in the A&M game for the shiny new kid. Bad roster management.

Figured out the #16 issue. I saw tonight that Isiah McDaniels appears to have 16 on his jersey rather than 6. So that explains the McCance question from last game.

Game 4 against Southern Illinois:
#17 DB Cameron Tisdale #25 Canaan Brooks #80 WR Wesley Eliodor #94 DL Ethan Burson
New this week is Eliodor. Simmons threw a ball at him and I wondered who in the heck that was, then found out I'd have a new addition to my list. We did not see Starling, Erbes, or Morrison (as we had Godfrey return). Here's my tally for the year:
#17 DB Cameron Tisdale - 4 games played #25 RB Canaan Brooks - 4 games played #27 DB Jakari Starling - 3 games played #66 OL Isaac Erbes - 1 game played #74 LS Andrew Morrison - 3 games played #80 Wesley Eliodor - 1 game played #94 DL Ethan Burson - 4 games played
As a reminder, a player who has not redshirted yet in their career can play up to 4 games and be able to use their redshirt for that season. Tisdale, Brooks, and Burson will be ineligible to redshirt this season if they play in another game. It seems obvious that they will keep playing but I just want to reiterate how the rule works.

Game 5 against Missouri State:
#17 DB Cameron Tisdale #25 Canaan Brooks #80 WR Wesley Eliodor
This week Ethan Burson was not used for the first time, so it's still possible he could redshirt if he didn't play again this year. Tisdale and Brooks officially can't redshirt this year now. Here's the updated totals:
#17 DB Cameron Tisdale - 5 games played #25 RB Canaan Brooks - 5 games played #27 DB Jakari Starling - 3 games played #66 OL Isaac Erbes - 1 game played #74 LS Andrew Morrison - 3 games played #80 Wesley Eliodor - 2 games played #94 DL Ethan Burson - 4 games played

One name I didn’t think would be in the discussion for this is Kody Case. He’s played in 2 games thus far and has pulled his other hamstring. He might be at that point where he thinks about redshirting. Just a thought

Kai Henry has played 4 games...and didn’t play this week. Not sure if I believe that he is injured or not. I guess time will tell.
Totally agree on Case.

I tried to think of people who didn't take a redshirt year that have been active this year, Case did not come to mind. Nor did Henry. Both are still eligible for redshirts this year.

Nathan Schultz might be another. He was outstanding last season as a true freshman, suffered the serious injury late and I guess was still a bit limited early on this fall. Maybe he plays at the end of the season, maybe the staff holds him out the entire season. Whatever is decided I hope it's in his best interest and he's 100% when he comes back because that kid has unlimited potential.

If not, I'd like to see him held out and get an extra year.

In this hypothetical scenario Schultz could return late in the year, play no more than 4 games, and still be considered a sophomore next year. Purely hypothetical though. If he isn't ready to play then he shouldn't be rushed back to the field.
