K State is in the books. It’s time to even our record and paste Northern Colorado. Just as important is for our fan base to realize what kind of potential this team has and get behind them in an enthusiastic manner. That parking lot needs to start percolating around 10 am Saturday and be boiling by 2. The MVFC is 1-2 against the Big Sky. We need to win the next two weeks and reclaim the head to head.
Let’s show everyone we are indeed FREAL. I’m thinking of getting T-shirts made with backsackdad’s new creation. What should the shirts say?

PREDICTED WINNER: USD
SPREAD: -8 USD
OVER/UNDER: 48
MYTHICAL SCORE: USD 23 - UNC 15
This one has route written all over it. It assumes 132 yards rushing & 216 in the air for USD. They can do better than 348 yds. It also assumes 261 yards rushing for UNC. I dont think thats happening.
I'm taking USD to cover and the over.

UNC has a good QB and RB. They should be a good test. Will we still be looking in the rear view mirror or be ready for this game?
It should be a good test. The Coyotes might struggle early but I hope will wear down the Bears in the second half. I'm expecting a win!!!
Will take the long trip eastward to see the game. Getting my vocal chords ready.

My take on this game is our boys are pi$$ed about last weeks results and will be taking it out on the field against UNC. I would play close attention to the defense flying around from the first snap to put a bunch of pressure on their offense. I would also look for a run heavy game plan too. Looking forward to a great performance from our yotes. |

Yotes listed at 14 point favorites. I was surprised UNC was able to keep it close with a historically good-to-decent program in McNeese State, otherwise I'd be calling for a blowout win.
I'm just now doing my research on this guys, but I'm surprised they didn't fire their head coach after last year's abysmal season in year 7 of his tenure (he is 24-54 as head coach at UNC). I suppose they're getting a deal at $150k per year though.
Fun fact that I'm sure no one else will find interesting: I met the previous AD at Northern Colorado while in college. This was right after USD started competing in the MVFC. He said to me that he was really hoping we would join the Big Sky. I had no idea at that point that we had even agreed to join them at one point, but I also wish we could be closer to Northern Colorado.

Several FCS Twitter and blog sites are calling this a “trap game” for USD or their upset pick of the week. Go ahead, keep underestimating the yotes and face the consequences.

I’m not sure if it’s a trap game or not. You could build an argument that says inside their head they’re thinking they took a good Big 12 team to the wire, or they can think we’re home and we need to paste these suckers. Hopefully home crowd noise and excitement will provide the fuel to paste these suckers.
I think they’re on a mission. I vote paste.

It worries me too. Big game, played well but lost a close one. Sometimes it doesnt matter which way it goes when it comes to the big game let down. It's not awlays true, only sometimes.

It really is somewhat amazing the lack of respect USD gets on the national scene, even within our own conference really. I get NDSU obviously and even the bunnies for that matter, but some of the others that are consistently and highly ranked... no. Just for one example: our old friend Nichols State. We beat them last year at their place, they come out rated way higher than we are this fall and then in OT squeak by a ridiculously sad Kansas team that won't win a game . We take Kansas State to the brink and are lucky to make it into one poll and some don't even have us ranked. I wonder how the KU vs KSU game will go? How are we behind New Hampshire? or UNI and Western for that matter? I realize everything sorts itself out in the end, but still, the seed is planted and I think the playoff committee uses these polls to any degree we get a short shrift. I hope I'm wrong. End rant. |

My guess on Nicholls is they have their QB back and we don’t. Simple as that. Not that I agree, but that’s a big part.
