Official thread.
I hope the team hasn't bailed on this season like this fan base has. We need to win these final two so we can carry some positive momentum into the off-season. Last week was a tough loss against what is turning out to be a pretty solid ISUb team. Hopefully the Dome field advantage will help propel the Yotes this weekend.

Who wants this win more, the USD coaching staff, or the players? I'm guessing the staff. On the other hand there are still plenty of WIU players like Sean McGuire who played for most of this staff. I'm guessing WIU's players will be jacked up. This should be a great game to watch with the score going back and forth till the final whistle blows. I have know idea who will win, but it will be fun to watch.

Despite our record, we can play with anyone in our conference. Thanks he frustration is we keep coming up with ways to lose (e.g. turnovers, untimely penalties, etc.). If we play a complete game, we can and should win. The teams biggest challenge for the next two games is to have confidence in their ability to play at a higher level and avoid the mental errors that have plagued us for most the season. Prediction: Yotes 28, WIU 21

Quite simply, we have to stop the run this week! Gap control and tackling...nothing magical about it. If we struggle in that area, winning will be difficult. Shut down their run and get our offense clicking, good things will happen. Let's not make this too difficult.

Not sure the fanbase has stopped caring - the switch from fall to winter sports is hard. Too many things going on at once which divides attention (case in point, the post about attendance in Brookings). I know my family wraps up one youth sports season this Saturday which eliminates some overlap.

I know my family wraps up one youth sports season this Saturday which eliminates some overlap. That's actually an excellent point. When I was looking at MVFC football attendance, I noticed that SIU and MSU both consistently showed a sharp drop-off for the last few games every year. I thought it might have something to do with basketball competition. Both of those schools have had excellent MBB programs in the recent past. I still think that SDSU and USD are football-first schools, but crappy weather can depress turnout up there. All just speculation on my part.

I usually let others start the game week thread. It got to Thursday morning and there was nothing, so I started it up. Just didn't seem to be much interest in this game.

We need this game to keep the playoff hopes alive more than to just run it Bob face. we've still only had two complete games UNI and MSU. The last several years the game has been close and I don't see any reason it will be different this year I'm going 27-21 Wiu.

SDSU is a basketball school that has gotten good at football. That’s not me saying that, that’s been general consensus of their alumni.
Not sure how we self-identify?

Our guys really need this game. If for no other reason to try to keep from finishing 0-6. I’ll be very interested to see if the lineups get adjusted to give some younger guys some playing time.

So exactly when does your fan base anticipate getting over Coach Nielson leaving? Good gawd, it's been three years and two coaches ago for you people and you're still shredding him on your message board. I'd worry more about budget cuts and the loss of students, professors and academic programs, but maybe that's just me.

Just looked at the leathernecks board. Lots of hate for Bob. It's been 3 years and they still are throwing a fit over Bob. You're telling me if you or your child wasn't presented a good opportunity you wouldn't take it? Good grief. Let's go get a W tomorrow..
