So I am guessing he never decommitted, and even after verbally committing to USD NDSU continued to recruit him. I guess I am getting old as "gentleman's agreements" no longer apply. Oh well, you are right, if a bigger fish comes sniffing around he'll leave the Bison high and dry too.

I believe it's hard to know what happened or why the change came about. They are for the most part 17 year old young men. As the parent of a young man who was recruited to several FBS programs I was amazed at how even after they commit, the other schools will continue to recruit. I don't remember them saying anything particularly bad about the school he committed to, but they sure talked up their schools and told him things to check out about his choice. The things they wanted him to check out were not the good things about the school. I remember one coach saying make sure your parents look at the weather because they close down I-80 into Laramie pretty often. So of course he looked at how often it was closed, it surprised him and us. I wish him well with his choice and know he will miss being a Yote.

Money could always be a factor too. Remember when Gibbs was committed to NDSU as a PWO and then we offered $ and he flipped? I’m sure it’s just part of the dirty games of recruiting.

If one school isn't offering money and another comes in and offers money that's not dirty games, that's business, and a smart decision on the part of the kid to get his education paid for.
