Exactly my point in asking. I don't get the classiness jab. The ink on his LOI is not yet dry. Just means his stock is rising.

11 days from Early Signing day... I count 22 verbal commits. Will we add anymore prior to signing day? Will they all sign on signing day? Will we lose any prior to signing day? How many jucos will we sign this year?
While visiting with one of the coaches last year at the signing day party, he mentioned that trends seem to show that the "bigs" sign early, but the "skills" tend to hold out til February.
Regardless, I start getting excited to see the future Yote football class! That last football game greatly increased my optimism for next year.

Aaron Kurth, a big lineman from Colby, Kansas, still isn't on the commits list, but his twitter account has him as a future Coyote. Maybe someone can embed the tweet.

Chase Lopez isn't listed on the commits list either. That would make 23 verbals with Aaron Kurth.

Ditto for Ben Sinnott. I saw that he recently picked up an PWO from Kansas State so hopefully we can hold on to him as well.

FWIW: It looks like we've pretty much stayed true to form with our recruiting areas. Comparing our current roster with this potential in-coming class, we pick-up one from Michigan, but get none from California. We have 12 states represented. People talk about building a program and how the heart of the program, needs to be with the kids close to home. I believe that loyalty matters and those kids matter. I also believe that we have to go out and search for D1 athletes, because there just aren't enough of them (in our own backyard) to go around. I personally don't care where the kids are coming from, as long as they "BUY IN" to USD and the way USD operates. We need great "committed" athletes, with high character, who are willing to work hard and put it all on the line for each other (their brothers). The team needs to represent this University with a sense of pride, as a Class act who Kicks Ass, while having fun as privileged college student/athletes. We don't need kids who think it's all about them. This is a team thing. Put the WE before the ME. WE're headed in the right direction, and the last outing against SDSU (who still has OUR LBJ), should give us all assurance moving forward. This seems to be another good recruiting class that will help us rise to the top of our league and the entire FCS. Here's to hoping all will sign as expected. They're making a great decision to be a part of the pack. GO YOTES!!!

FWIW Jake Martin is reporting an offer from Air Force on his Twitter. My sister's boyfriend is from Colorado and his younger brother plays for AF. It's almost as big a deal to play for them as CU or CS. So, not to be pessimistic or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if he flips.

There is a lot more to playing for one of the academies than playing for any other school in America. The Air Force Academy is in Colorado Springs and 10-2 this year in the Mountain West, but are unhappy because one of those losses came at the hands of the Naval Academy. That means even though they beat Army no chance at the Commander and Chiefs Trophy. The CIC trophy is a bigger deal to an AFA, USNA, West Point player than a conference championship. An Academy football player is a Military Officer in Training first, a student second, and a football player third. Bottom line, if Martin has wanted to go to an Academy he would even if he had committed to Alabama, because an Academy player doesn't dream of the NFL but of being an officer in the U.S. Military. For those of you who don't know what that means, when you go to one of the Academies you are swearing an oath saying you are willing to give your life for your fellow Americans way of life. They want to fly jets, jump out of planes, ply the oceans depths, as their life goals. If he wants the AFA, God Bless him and wish him well.
