Just updating the recruiting threads. Here's the current scholarship picture with verbal commits:
2019-2020 team
lose 1 senior(Arens)
add three freshmen(Ugofsky/Guebert/Hempe 2019 class)
one open scholarship
2020-2021 team
lose 4 seniors(TayFred/Bonar/Duffy/Mac)
add 4 Freshmen(Krull/Hansen/Watson/Mazurek 2020 class)
one open scholarship
2021-2022 team
lose 5 seniors (Sjerven/Lamb/Arens/Kunzer/Korn)
add 3 Freshmen (Carson/Larkins/Duffney 2021 class)
three open scholarships
So it looks like we need two more recruits to complete the 2021 class, assuming Coach P likes to keep an open scholarship. That will be our "big class". The following year we will only lose Sankey, assuming Peplowski redshirts. Transfers out of Vermillion could add to that, of course.
In the 2021 class, Carson Larkins and Duffney seem to be all in the "tall guard-forward" hybrid-type players category. I'll guess we will want to pick up a big and a true PG to round out the group? Seems like PG players often go early in the recruiting process, so maybe Duffney already fills that role. Look for 2021 bigs, then.

Sure, but she is in the 2020 class. I'm just thinking about having some positional balance in what will be a large class of five or more recruits in 2021. |

I'll assume that's a BB offer for Sydni Schetnan, since it is the Network BB club tweeting it. I don't know what offers she has in VB, but she already has P-5 BB offers from Kansas State, Nebraska and Kansas. Will be tough going against those teams, but OTOH, we would probably beat all of them on the court this year. I hope she has the desire to play closer to home. Brookings, Vermillion and Sioux Falls are a lot of games friends and family can attend.
Actually, if she wanted to play on championship teams in both sports, I can't think of a better school than USD.
Interesting note: The USD offer is the only one she re-tweeted from her twitter account. Maybe nothing, but......

It is a basketball offer and you can see some short highlight clips on Max Preps and on Hudl. She reminds me of Hannah. Long arms and skilled blocker.
