Two teams meeting at a crossroads, similar storyline to last week. If the Yotes focus and play a clean game (limit the penalties, turnovers, and big plays) we should come out of this one with a win. Don't play a clean, smart game and anything can happen. Need this one to stay alive for playoff consideration. Playoff talk aside, I would like to see us finish in the upper half of the Valley this season. Need this game to do that.

Excited for this one. Two teams looking to make a statement and stay in the hunt. Get a win and we're tied with either SDSU or NDSU at 3-1 in the Valley with an overall record of 4-4 with 4 games to go at Western Illinois, Youngstown at home, at NDSU, and conclude with SDSU at home. Yotes gave a ranked UNI team 6 gimmes and still had a shot to win last Saturday?! Are you kidding me? This Coyote squad is loaded with talent we knew about already and is adding depth that is starting to emerge all over the place (i.e. Hillis, Connaway, Greenhaw, VanderEsch to name a few). I think this team comes out with an attitude on Saturday that sets the tone for the rest of the year. Go Yotes!

Totally agree that the talent is there. We just need to play a clean game and execute. The talent on the roster will take care of the rest.
Win this game and I feel very strongly we can finish the conference with minimum of 5 wins. Regardless of the playoffs, finishing above .500 in conference play is a good step towards building the program.

I agree with all this, but I just don't know which team to expect. I certainly hope the good Coyotes show up. Play up to our potential and it should be a win and playing at home helps too. Here's to starting another win streak this Saturday. Finishing the year with a winning record in the MVFC would be a huge positive and a definite step in the right direction.

People, we are still in good shape. The game of football has a mind of its own. Players aren’t robots so they make mistakes. There isn’t a team in the country that executes flawlessly 12 weeks in a row. The start to this season I believe is what’s having a lingering effect on most. I hated it myself, but we still have the opportunity to play ourselves back in it. I’ve said all along that we have the starters to play with anyone. UNI didn’t have better talent, they just didn’t screw up like we did. I know we have to limit that but the takeaway is we can play with anyone. If you don’t think so then just look at comparative scores.
I firmly believe we will be at minimum 5-3 in the league. I think we have a punchers chance at 6-2. And I do believe we beat the Jacks. We are a decent team that’s getting better. We need to make the Dome the “pit of hell” to play in. Defend the Dome, beat Western Illinois and then go to Fargo and just see what happens. Coach Glenn said it best 4 years ago. We’re gonna go to Fargo and “touch gloves” and see which team wants it more. Imagine the energy on that bus if we get another 3 game winning streak going. Yes they are good, but not to be feared. We need to FIRE UP and not dwell on the negative. Accentuate on the positive and let’s get some positive mojo going forward. Karma is tough to beat.

I can easily see another three game win streak starting on Saturday. That would have us at 6 wins, and 5-1 in MVFC play going into games against the xDSUs. That sounds like a team in the hunt with a great opportunity to punch their ticket.
It all starts on Saturday. Protect the Dome!

SIU scores after a huge run made possible by not wrapping up. Just can't give away points like that.

Great to see that Case is back in action.
Henry is getting some big yards up the middle on this second drive, and I haven't even seen him pop off at all. Let's keep that going.
