I'm fine with the whole FCS shutting it down honestly.
All I can say is, they better figure out this protocol stuff before September.

There should be no such thing as protocols by September. The vaccine is already widely available. If you choose not to be vaccinated that is your choice. Life as we used to know it needs to resume.

Will a single case in "tier 1" personnel (whatever that means) still mean shut down the whole operation?

If this is the case, that we still shut everything down after being vaccinated, then what is the point of being vaccinated? Hell, what is the point of living? At some point we just have to move on.

I just have a hard time seeing the media, CDC, government, etc coming out and saying "Yeah, we don't need to quarantine anymore".

Deaths have dropped dramatically the past two months as the vaccine has become available. I don't see how we aren't playing a full season this Fall unabated. It would take some wild new developments to disrupt another football season.

It would take some wild new developments to disrupt another football season. Again, I hope you're right. I'm just not getting my hopes up yet. It's not even about cases, hospitalizations, deaths, etc. If it was, the country would be back to fully open and we wouldn't be having this conversation anymore. My God do I ever wish that was the case. It's the general attitude about the whole thing that will need to change before things can be normal again. We'll need the CDC, the news media, the democrats, etc to come out and say close contacts don't need to quarantine and just generally admit that it's not that bad. Until the groups I just mentioned stop with the scare tactics and accept that it's going to be around just like any other virus, I don't think things will be normal again. Sorry if I sound pessimistic, but a guy can only take so much of the same news story every day for over a year now before it starts to get to him.

So much for the FCS Spring 2021 football season. Better known as the * season.
Only 151 days to season opener against the Jayhawks. Already looking forward to the road trip.
Only 158 days to the real Dome Opener. Can't wait to enjoy the full gameday experience in the renovated Dome.

Agreed. The asterisk season. I've felt that way about most sports the past year, but FCS football takes the cake on that sentiment. Didn't see teams dropping out as the season went on for questionable reasons anywhere else. This season will be remembered only when wise guys like myself want to drop trivia in the future regarding the opening of the Dome renovation or Carson Camp's first game. It wasn't good for much else.
I'm all in on next year too. I've got 5 months to trick myself into thinking we can beat a reeling Kansas team, and I know 5 months from now I'll have another great road trip for Coyote football. We could play Kansas/KState/Missouri every year and I'd be satisfied because it's a short trip and I get to enjoy KC. I got some Arthur Bryant's down there in January and would have died a happy man if Covid struck me down in that diner. Just let me finish all the sauce first.

Tough loss but I feel pretty good with Theis and Marsaray Agreed. I don't think we're hurting with what we have at running back, plus there looks to be some high end talent coming in with the signing of Antonio Outler last fall. It will be a very young group though, but if any position can contribute immediately it's at running back. Hate losing Henry, but trying to be pragmatic with his situation, I don't see what he hopes to gain by transferring. I'm wondering if he can find a school that will give him more carries than he'd get here. If he can more power to him.
