I suggest buying the tickets for NDSU ASAP. Most are already gone.

Huge win. Going on the road and taking one from a Big 10 school (even if they look to finish near the bottom) is huge. Hope the guys build on this win and finish the year with the same intensity. Was so exciting to watch in person - cannot wait to watch the televised version. The U should order a ton of DVD's of the game from the Big10 Network and send to every recruit they are going after. Also, on a scheduling note - I know that when you have 2 BCS games as a FCS program every year it will sometimes result in two losses. After winning at UM my view is most likely tainted, but I think it is a solid strategy. 1. USD needs the money 2. For recruiting you can tell a recruit that he will have 8 opportunities against the highest level in front of huge crowds. 3. If and when you have success it is noticed. If you take the route of playing the best programs that the FCS has to offer as your program's approach (Montana, Delaware, App St etc.) you could argue it is as hard to go in and win. The payoff if you win, is great from a playoff perspective, but from a recognition standpoint nationally - not even close. The only other positive I can see is that if you can secure a home and home agreement with those elite FCS schools, you get as solid of a home game as you could ever hope to get in Vermillion. If SD State had beaten Delaware would they have had clips on ESPN and been talked about? My guess is no. Would the casual fan recognize the accomplishment? no (Even though that would be a huge win.) Not a big deal for real fans that follow the program, but let's face it - we live in a superficial world. When the Yote staff calls on the HS coaches in schools they have built relationships, I would think they will remember South Dakota's win against the Big 10 - and if not a reminder will be impactful. Telling the same coaches, "Hey, we went out to Montana and dominated" would not carry the same weight as "We are undefeated against the Big 10. Did you see us go into UM?" Go Yotes. I respectfully have to agree to disagree on two FBS games. Fresh off our Minnesota upset, I think it's pretty easy to endorse a schedule which incorporates multiple games against the big boys. Unfortunately, as usdfbalum notes, those types of upsets don't grow on trees (which makes Saturday's experience so special). Once we're playoff eligible, particularly if we find ourselves in a tough FCS Conference, every win will matter. And really, once eligible, we're playing for a post-season, not the outside chance to knock off a household name. There's a reason FCS schools get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for one-and-done deals against power conference schools. We're supposed to lose and lose ugly. A virtually guaranteed 0-2 hole puts your program in a really tough spot. I think our new AD has also made reference to the fact that next year's schedule will likely be our last schedule with two FBS opponents. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. Obviously the "who" plays a role in this as well. Playing a non-conference game against FCS Montana is arguably tougher than playing, say, FBS New Mexico State. If that's how we get a second FBS game, fine, but I'd rather not see us open a season against Michigan and Oklahoma. That's this fan's take, and an excited fan I am. Still in shock concerning Saturday's game. What a statement!

Points well taken on the Playoff eligibility issues playing two BCS schools.
I think playing a team from a major BCS conference is a great experience for our guys and I would like them to get a chance for a day like last Saturday every year.
I also think if USD played a MAC/SunBelt/Lower level WAC school as a second game - it would not be any harder than playing the top 15 -20 of FCS. I just wonder if the U could get more money playing a weaker BCS opponent regularly vs a top tier FCS. The only advantage I see of playing a top tier FCS opponent is if we can sign a 1 and 1 contract to get a great non-conference game in Vermillion. I am skeptical of that even if signed though, unless USD gets the first home game. Just look at Montana and Delaware of recent history with our neighboring universities. McNeesse or UCA coming to the Dome after we went down there? (not sure if those two agreed to any such deal originally).

Lets also not forget that scheduling two FBS games also creates a spot where USD will have to host a buy-in game against an opponent that will be overmatched (likely D2) just to fill the home schedule. I think alot depends on what the Coyotes conference situation looks like. If USD ends up in the MVFC I see that as a middle tier to top conference in FCS. If USD continues the momentum that just adds another tough school to the mix.
If USD is in the Valley I would think they may have 3 non conference games to fill. 1 payout game against an FBS school. 1 or 2 home and homes against FCS clubs. Sometimes midlevel, sometimes low level, sometimes high level. 1 of those instead of a second FCS non conference opponent could still be a lower division club. I personally want to see USD fill the home schedule with as many attractive games as possible. Maybe one easy one but other than that I want to come to the dome having to worry about the visiting opponent.

Saturday really was a bank heist. Heard on 620 AM out of Sioux City today that Saturday's paycheck came out to $700,000. They said something about how we got a cut of the BTN TV money. Not sure of that is true. Not bad, $700ger and the W.

BTW I love that nickname, The Great Bank Heist. A game like that deserves a cool nickname.

I was at the game with a huge extended family of Yote alums and ex-footballers... Not much to add to what's been said, but 2 days later, I'm not sure if my voice will ever come back.
I agree with Coyotefan, the moments after the game with the fans, and the team celebrating together... I'll never forget.

Dante looked great and the joke Noah who? was heard at the stadium a couple times. Of course Noah was a GREAT QB for USD, but Dante put on a show. I put a little different twist on the Noah / Dante comparison. I was sitting in the middle of lots of Minnesota season-ticket holders. I had on my red USD sweatshirt (yeah, I have one) but in talking to a guy near me, I commented that while I'm cheering for USD, I'm really a Jackrabbit. Anyway, at the end of the game, he said something like "wow, USD has a very nice quarterback" and I said, "yeah, he's a good one but you should have seen the one he played behind the last two years." The guy said: "Wish we could get a quarterback to play like that." Oh, yeah...great party at Sally's after the game, with a good mix of Minnesota and South Dakota fans.

I don't think it would be wise to play two FBS schools when the Yotes become playoff eligible honestly. I think one game a year will be the max for the years to come. Especially if the Coyotes get in the MVFC or the Big Sky, which I think is basically a lock.

Congrats on the big win USD fans! Hope to see a lot of you in Fargo next weekend, come early and be ready to tailgate. I was hoping NDSU would have a Brewster lead team next year when the Bison go to TCF, but I think you guys might have put an end to that hope. Oh well, congrats again on the great win, I really enjoyed it, maybe not as much as Glen Mason, but I still enjoyed it.

I don’t want to be one of those guys that always talks about the past, so after this week, I’m going to file this game away somewhere in my brain where I can pull it out from time to time, in the privacy of my own thoughts and enjoy.
But…one more thing…a mental exercise:
Who is UM playing this week? USC Who is USC watching film of this week? Coyotes Who is USC learning from? Coyotes
I just like to think about those sorts of things. ‘Nuf.

Not sure of that is true. Not bad, $700ger and the W. FYI USD did not get $700,000 for this game and it did not get a portion of any revenue from the Big Ten Network. The paycheck was either $325,000 or $375,000. I believe USD received $225,000 from Central Florida, so the two of them together doesn't equal $700,000. Either way, great payday for a W. Go Yotes

Funny, I point blank heard Coach Ed say on 620 KMNS Sioux City Tuesday night around 5:30 say that USD received $700,000 for the Minnesota game. He actually said, and I parapharase, "once you count up the Big Ten Network money..."
I didn't just pull that figure out of nowhere.
