No question the post is an issue. These teams can generally play sjerven straight up. It allows the others players to not have to leave someone open. In the summit sjerven needs to be double teamed so someone else is gonna have an open shot. Either that or Hannah is going to dominate.
I believe the Coyotes are hardly ever going to lose the basketball IQ war but when they have to give up alot in the talent category that is tough to overcome regardless of the strategy. Dawn usually finds a way if the talent is relatively even. Lately it simply hasn't been. Oregon was kind of the eye brow raiser and that has continued into this year.

Pitt is almost doubling up NW on the boards. The Panthers lead by 10 towards the end of the 3rd.

Let’s just be real honest. If Sjerven and Korngable are as overmatched as they were in that game by their respective counterparts it’s going to be a tough go. And there was no shame in being overmatched in that one. Burton and Walsh are both really, really good players.
I think there’s a bit of spoilage going on with fans around these parts because they’ve seen kids like Seekamp, Miller, Duffy and Selland (when healthy) and think that’s normal when it’s not. Those players are special. But you need a kid like that surrounded by the typically smart, skilled, tough kids that come from around these parts to hang with a high major. Somebody who is truly special in terms of their own shot creation but also the understanding of just what everybody else on the floor is or should be doing and can get the ball moving after making the defense shift.
The Yotes are a really good team. They’re going to be fine. But some of you need to quit constantly comparing them to what you’ve seen thinking it’s some kind of constant, never ending improvement thing. This team is good. And it could be very good. Just breathe and watch.

Defensive masterpiece in that opening half.

Third quarter couldn't have gone any worse. My God that was bad

And you lose the third 24-2 and good night.

And my point stands true again. We get bullied in the post in the second half and rely on shooting 3s every trip trying to stop the bleeding

4 for 29 in the second half isn't going to win a lot of games. The flow on offense is just off right now - everything is very difficult.

That was a total collapse in the second half. This is another game that was winnable. Outscored 24-2 in the 3rd, oofta….. but alas we Fall to 2-4 (1-4 against D1)

I must’ve been watching a different game because I certainly missed the post bullying we’re talking about.

I must’ve been watching a different game because I certainly missed the post bullying we’re talking about. Maybe not bullying I guess, but when every look you get out of your post players is a crazy push up through contact, it's not good. None of our post players got position on them in the second half, at any point.

You can hope Sjerven can hold her own against what a high major is bringing down low but if you’re thinking she’s gonna go out there and Kevin McHale a top 25 team I think you’re expecting too much.

Probably expecting too much, but we just aren't a good enough outside shooting team to rely on jacking up 40 threes a game.

It’s tough right now for sure. They desperately need somebody to make the next step offensively. There’s just way too much pressure on that Big 3 against good teams.
