So much for expectations. When Texas A&M decided to show up the Coyotes just didn't have an answer. When a team like the Aggies turn up the pressure they just take over the game. When the Coyotes get behind they just don't have the ability to do what TAM did.
So do people still think the Coyotes don't need to get more athletic. I guess since we should never expect these games to be wins I guess the answer is still no.

Christ almighty. If you think the Coyotes can get athletic enough to just go match up against SEC and Big Ten teams on a regular basis I have no idea what to tell you.

In all honesty the Coyotes just are not consistent. They have one really good half followed by a really bad one. They need to put a more consistent effort forward. It is just to up and down.

Christ almighty. If you think the Coyotes can get athletic enough to just go match up against SEC and Big Ten teams on a regular basis I have no idea what to tell you. You have a loser mentality plain and simple. In your mind this program has platued so no reason to try to take it up another level. If it was up to you, you would just stop trying. If you are not going forward you are going backwards. If we just continue to go ho hum after these games and the team took your attitude they would not have a chance.

I guess if that’s what you call a realistic understanding of athletics then I’ll take it.

I am sure Dawn and the program want to keep getting better not just give in. Good programs don't just quit trying to up their level but Waterboy doesn't seem to agree with that.

Pretty sure the coaching staff has a pretty solid understanding that they’re never going to just go out-athlete Power 5 teams on a regular basis.

I mean do you honestly think anybody’s not recruiting the best athletes they can?

Look at Gonzaga Men's basketball. They are a mid major and came from nowhere. They didn't stop trying and now they are national title favorites. They had setbacks but didn't just quit and say they just couldn't matchup with the power conferences. They just kept getting better but they certainly didn't just quit trying.

This is going to be my last post on this for now but if the Coyotes want to be considered a top 40 program they are going to have to win some of these types of games. I get not beating South Carolina but the teams the Yotes are currently playing are on the same level where the Coyotes want to be. What do you think Coach P would say if you asked her if it was realistic to be a top 40 program.
Do you think she would say. "Na these teams are just too good and we can not realistically matchup with them". There is no way she is saying that but I know one thing. She is a competitor and will do everything in her power to get there.

Gonzaga played D-1 for almost 40 years before making a tournament, doesn’t play football and has a Top 25 men’s hoops budget. But maybe.

As I asked in an earlier post of the basketball savant, AKA Coyote Fan, you must have played D1 basketball, coached D1 basketball, and officiated D1 basketball. Based on your observations, you must have coached and officiated for over 25 years??

I think I get what CF is trying to say - it is not unreasonable for a top tier mid-major to expect to win games against middle-of-the-pack P5 teams. Both SD schools have shown they can do that. But it isn't ever going to be because the mid-major is bigger/faster/stronger. Instead, it would be because the mid-major can be more skilled, better schemed, better shooting, more experienced, etc.
I know I didn't expect a 2-4 record at this point. You could see the faces just deflate in the 3rd quarter when the ball wasn't going in the hoop. The team expected to win, and I hope things start to click again soon, before frustration affects play even more.
