I think the Illinois State loss changes things a bit. Instead of cheering for scenarios to win the conference it is more important to just make the playoffs at this point. It is a longshot at this point to expect the Coyotes to run the table and to win a share of the conference. IMO NDSU and S I'll are gonna be hard to catch individually but to catch both is an extreme longshot IMO. I am gonna be going for NDSU and S. I'll to win their games vs the teams SD will be competing against. Disagreeing is fine but we really need teams like SDSU and Missouri State to lose. If we had defeated Illinois State I would perhaps have a different opinion.

If NDSU beats SDSU and the Coyotes beat W Illinois and the Jacks I think that is the best scenario for the Yotes to finish the highest they possibly can in the conference. I also think SIU beating Missouri State would probably be better as well. I would love the Yotes to run the table but realistically banking on a win in Fargo is not a good proposition so we have to come to the realization that the Yotes will probably lose that game. UNI is a factor again as well so we need them to lose at least one more as well.

We just have different mindsets. Doesn’t make yours wrong, actually I understand your post. And agree with it if making the playoffs is the end game. For me it’s winning a conference title first, then making the playoffs. I do think the Jacks are gonna beat the Bizun Saturday straight up. I hope we get the win in Macomb. Stop there. Now look at the possibilities. The Jacks come to Vermillion and the Coyotes motivating factor to lay a hurt on them is twofold. When they win, they now are in the playoffs regardless of the game in Fargo. But a win in Fargo now puts us one step away getting a piece of the MVFC regular season title. If Southern Illinois gets beat by Missouri State ( very possible ) and UNI beats Missouri State ( very possible ) then there’d be a 4 way tie for the title.
The four co-champs would be NDSU, UNI, SIU, and USD. The Coyotes would most likely get the #1 seed because they had beat 2 of the teams and not played the 3rd. NDSU would have lost to USD. UNI beat SIU but lost NDSU and USD. USD would be the only co-champ not to have lost to any they are tied with. Like most betting parlays it’s not likely to happen but it’s also not out of the question.
IF we would happen to get a convincing win Saturday ( and that’s a BIG if ), and the Jacks beat NDSU, now you have the scenario i laid out above. If Mizzou State beats SIU, then the Coyotes 100% control their destiny. Our defense is good enough to get this done. A MVFC title on the line game in Fargo would be huge.
I want a piece of that championship and a top seed. It’s there for the taking with a break here or there.

I see the two points of view here. Obviously, everything hinges on the game with WIU. But as a fan, I'm torn for who to pull for in Brookings. If SDSU loses, then they are coming to Vermillion fighting for their season. If they win, I can see them being a bit flat in the Dome. And we need 2 wins, so I'm for whatever puts the Yotes in the best position for 2 wins. However, we have 3 winnable games to get the conference title (with a little help), so that seems like it should be the goal. However, our path to a seed isn't as simple as if we beat the xDSU's - we would have to finish 3 or 4 games ahead of them to be seeded or have a better playoff draw than them. That is just how the committee works - past season wins and brand names matter.

These announcers are brutal. The camera angles are Junior High level. Volume off the rest of the game.

Yeah, you’d think we’ve been in the conference long enough to be done with “Kay-oh-tees”… As long as you go into it knowing how bad it’s going to be, it’s almost like a parody of a broadcast. I find the humor.

They say it on purpose as a sign of disrespect. They know better.

We are losing the battle In the trenches right now. Need line play on both sides to pick it up.

So far the coyote defense has not come to play. The whole team for that matter better realize in a big hurry that their season is on the line today.

It's pretty hard to say that the coyotes got screwed by the officials on that pick. It sure seemed like the Western Illinois defender caught that ball. Since the coyotes had to punt it really doesn't matter much as far as the game is concerned. Bottom line Coyotes need a stop right now.

Ya, I would say instead of worrying about whether we are going to run the score up or win the conference we need to just worry about beating this team. Thank God we connected on a 95 yard pass.
