Took him out so he doesn’t get hurt. That is great. I am so impressed with the Yotes today. I never expected this big of a shellacking. With the way the league is playing out today the Yotes probably need 1 more win. This is gonna be the most important SDSU game in years.

YF,
You are getting your wish as southern Illinois is likely going to lose and NDSU is down 14 to the Jacks. The MVFC may be deserving of 6 teams in the playoffs as things are playing out presently.

Coyotes win Coyotes win
The valley has always been good but man O man is it UP this year. Might be the best it has been ever. The depth is crazy.
Big time performance and this team can deal with adversity.

I said this a week ago. We’ve entered the playoffs. Every game matters. If SDSU can get the Bizun Saturday and we run the table and Southern Illinois trips up we get a share of the title. That’s a lot of ifs but not an unreasonable feat. This conference is crazy. We are right there in the hunt. If the Bizun win and we beat the bunnies next Saturday that might knock them out of the playoffs assuming UNI, Missouri State take care of business. If Southern Illinois beats Mizzou State then the loser of UNI / Mizzou State is likely out of the playoffs. A lot and I mean a lot can happen these next 2 weeks in determining the playoff teams. Let’s GO YOTE!!!! If SDSU can get the Bizun Saturday……check If Southern Illinois can trip up…..check If the Coyotes can run the table…..step 1 completed The COYOTES control their destiny. Win out and we’re Co-Champs FILL THE DOME

What did I say 2 weeks ago? Get #14 the ball and good things happen. I was at the game down by the end zone, if they would have reviewed it, he would have had three TDs today. He was 100% in after he caught it on the goal line and reached the ball back over the goal line before the 1st half. Needs to be targeted more for yards after the catch.

A win is a win, BUT I really hated how we wouldn’t just run the damn ball and use some clock in the 3rd quarter. Camp missed a few guys off their fingertips today, and if they catch those it might’ve been a route much earlier. Certainly could’ve been the wind. But why we go away from running it when WIU hasn’t stopped it all season, and we have a QB coming off injury, and a 14 point lead and a stop to start the 2nd half is beyond me. Look what happened when we committed to it. We went 85 yards in 4 plays. I swear Schlafke gets in his own way with play calling sometimes trying to be too cute. We had 3 straight possessions where we dis nothing and could’ve let a better team right back into it. I just don’t get it sometimes.

Against a team like western they have shown the ability to come from Behind. IMO a 14 point lead isnt enough to go conservative just yet. They eventually settled down and ran it. The Coyotes offense has been balanced this year which is nice. I believe in staying aggressive and the Coyotes did that till the game was out of reach. I liked how this game was managed by the Yotes.

But I wasn’t suggesting going conservative. It wasn’t at all conservative when they went 85 yards on 4 plays all on the ground. We were having success running the ball. We’ve had success all season when we’ve committed to running it. They’ve had trouble stopping the run all season. Play to your strength and their weakness and use some clock at least on the drives. Camp had already taken too many hits. Protect him by not putting him in harms way.
I will admit that in the 1st half, I loved how we were taking the check downs to the RB’s and hit some short crossing routes and worked the YAC.

I do think in the 3rd quarter when the Yotes passed it 3 straight times for a three and out that they were gonna come out running the ball after that and I believe that is what they did. The Coyotes are becoming an intelligent football team. They are doing the right things at the right times. The coaching staff and especially Nielson deserve a ton of credit for how they are all managing the games this year. But there is unfinished business and the Coyotes probably still need one more win and it might be the toughest win of them all.

They need 2 wins and they are co-champs. Go to coaches radio show at OLC and ask if any of them are playing for playoffs or a title and what comes with it. I say this not to rebut you but rather instill the attitude you’ve always claimed you want. If we aren’t 6-2 in the league I’ll be bummed. We are progressing. Look at the youth we have. Freshman qb and freshman running backs. A bunch of young talent. Size…speed…and football intellect.

I'm pretty sure if you asked Nielsen or any of the players that question, they'd say they're playing for a win on Saturday and taking it one game at a time. Win every week and the rest will take care of itself.

Don't think it's been mentioned,, but Carter Bell's 91 yd TD reception against Western is the longest in Coyote history!!
Broke Stefan Logan's 90 yd TD reception in 2005.
