If you want to take a stroll down memory lane do a search for the 2017 game thread. Man, that game had it all. Blown targeting calls, blown calls on the goal line (twice) denying USD a TD, and, of course, Crampgate. From the sounds of last Saturday's game against NDSU, cramping is still an in-game strategy Stig utilizes. Thinking back on that game still makes my blood boil. State Fan was in ultimate obnoxious form at that game too.

What is the Vegas line on this game? Anyone have a clue? I’d guess were underdogs by 6.5. Only a guess I don't have a clue either, but I'm very curious to see what it's going to be as well. I will guess that we will be 4.5 point dogs.

Just curious at what point during the week will the bunnies begin to really get serious about cramping practice?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the line at even or Jacks as 1.5 pt favorites, but I also wouldn’t be shocked if they gave the odds to the Yotes by 1.5-3.5. More interested on what the total points scored will be set at, guessing 49.5.

I think you’ll be favored by at least 3.5-4.5 minimum
It will go over 49.5 I feel. Just my gut thought

As an official there’s no way in hell you can call out a kid and say he’s faking. I hope it doesn’t happen but if indeed that was a strategy, then they have to live with it. No room in the game for that.

The one cramp I remember was starting LG McCormick. I don’t remember seeing a defensive guy go down with one, not to say there wasn’t one though.
I’m guessing the total over 49.5 as well.

... There’s no way to stop it. As an official there’s no way in hell you can call out a kid and say he’s faking... I mean, you could make an injured or cramping kid stay out for a number of plays or a period of time. There's no reason to rush a player back out on the field in the following play or two if he is actually injured. I'm sure there is some medically sound period of time that makes sense. Probably should stay out for the whole possession. They already do this with concussions. I'd guess that would cut down on that strategy at least a little bit.

What I mean by they ( officials ) can’t stop it is with rules in place today. Concussion has protocols. No way to do that with leg cramps. They could change the rules and say if you cramp twice, you’re out for x amount of plays. Or if you return prior and cramp then it’s flagged.
But quite honestly you can have 11 different players go down on 11 different plays. How do you stop it? For the sake of future games my hope is all coaches have enough integrity not to pull that stunt. I officiated college ball for a number of years and I had strong intuitions when players were trying to pull one over. But in today’s world of absolutely everything gets questioned if you penalize a team for that stunt you’re likely to be booted off the crew.
In 2017 do I feel it was a stunt to slow us down? Yes
No room in the game for it.

In the name of player safety, any player that is injured on the field which requires a stoppage of play should be required to sit out until the next change of possession or until after a time out is taken by their team (not the opposing team). Would solve a lot of issues and wouldn't put officials in the bad position of having to make a judgement call about a potential injury.
Such a simple rule change to counter what is becoming a growing problem at all CFB levels. I've seen this happening more this season than ever.

Changing the rules needs to happen. Until then expect more of the same

guys, I got my hands on some Jacks football practice footage. Looks like they are prepping for the Yotes: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
