I am gonna defend Nielson here. One of the biggest reasons for the turnaround has been the wider formation to spread out the defense which allows more options for the O to attack. The holes are wider to run through and this has been the bread and butter of this team and it has gotten them to where they are.
Even before I had faith in this team I really had a good gut feeling about camp. Now how does everyone feel about going with a true freshman at QB. It is looking like a great decision. We now can finally think in the here and now and not have to always play for next year. The time is now with a bright future on top of it.

The problem is specifically not being able to go under center ever or at all.

Well that problem did not prevent a good season. Remember when every problem always caused a loss and strengths couldn't overcome it. Now the problems are not under cutting the teams strengths. This year it's nice to have to figure out how the team is falling into all of these wins. We gotta solve the problem of all these wins LOL 😆

On sports center they did a full 3 or 4 minute segment on the hail Mary. They showed multiple angles and the play by play from Jay Elson. Great job jay. They showed the guy running through the end zone carrying crutches which I thought was classic and kind of funny.
I just love to see the reaction to things like the finish of the game. It is great to just see the players lose it while running all over the field. It is great to see the fans in full pandemonium mode. To see the looks on jacks fans faces as well. Some of those looks were in pure horror and some of them were just shocked smiles knowing what they witnessed.
I wish I could see about 10 angles of different reactions of the players coaches, fans etc kind of like when fox shows all the players reaction when they win the world series.
The play made number 1 on the ESPN top 10 plays and Saturdays are the busiest day for sports. They basically said it was a no brainer #1.

I had an uneasy feeling when it was 17-13, since it felt like the Yotes should have been up at least 30-13. At that point, we thought 20 wouldn't win the game, but 24 would. It was kind of frustrating to feel like the Yotes were winning every facet of the game, but only up 4.
There were some odd moments throughout the game, which - in context of how it ended - help set up just how unbelievable that finish actually was. Camp running off the field with his left arm dangling like a wet noodle. The weird/ugly broken play by SDSU, where they somehow didn't score. An offensive pass interference on USD on a ball thrown 15 yards out of the end zone. Camp kept playing after the targeting shot to the head (should he have played??). SDSU with the 4th down conversion, USD with the 4th down non-conversion. Officials not standing over the ball when USD was substituting after a timeout. It looked to me like the 2 missed FG's were good, but the made FG was missed.
I might watch the replay, since that list alone is wild.

A couple of state fans near me thought it was "funny" and "cute" when Oladokun threw his last pass into the stands. It turned out to be frickin HILARIOUS!

A couple of state fans near me thought it was "funny" and "cute" when Oladokun threw his last pass into the stands. It turned out to be frickin HILARIOUS! Nitpicking item: the ball sailed over our heads (we are in row 10) with 2 seconds lift, not 1. It doesn't matter, of course, but there should have been at least 2 seconds left based on the rule. (In summary, the play is dead when the ball is clearly un-catchable or out of play.) The play isn't considered dead when the ball touches something (fans or the ground or whatever. It seemed to me that SDSU's coaches didn't know that rule, as they could have had the QB turn and run backwards for a safety to end the game.

Hail South Dakota! (Yotes.com headline)
The miracle ending, and it was, doesn't change the fact that the Coyotes won the game in almost all facets (not by a lot, but the stats don't lie). It would have been a smaller miracle that the Jacks were just a couple dumb plays from walking out with a W.
This team is special, now they go to Fargo for a chance to land what they have earned all year, the Title.

Unfortunately, I was traveling yesterday and was only able to catch the last play.
Back at work today and coworkers are debating the late penalty on USD for too many men on the field. I watched Bobs press conference and it is my understanding that he believed our defense should have been allowed to sub personnel, as it was a dead ball and the play clock was stopped. I don’t claim to be a rules expert. Can someone objectively explain what happened?
Thanks

www.ncaa.com/sports/football/fcsThe NCAA website has a looping clip of the catch filmed from the back of the end zone. I had not seen this angle yet. It very much looks like Webb was prepared to catch the ball after the first deflection, but then stuck with it after the defender swung their arm into the ball for the second deflection. That's really impressive given just how fast things move out there and in all that traffic. Incredible how I went from having to keep asking who #2 was at the beginning of the game, to Webb becoming a part of probably the biggest highlight in program history.

We came out of a timeout. Our players were on the field. SDSU offense comes back on. At this point a defense is allowed to substitute players in order to matchup with what offense is on the field. That’s why you see during a game an official standing over the ball till those substitutions take place. SDSU comes on the field in their “short gain package” and we make a substitution to bring in our “bigs” to match up. However the ref doesn’t stand over the ball allowing this to happen. So when they snap the ball we have 4 guys near the sideline, but on the field of play, thus being too many players on the field.
Bob was correct but the officials were to arrogant to acknowledge the situation and right it. Good officials do that.
Think of it this way. Let’s say team A is on offense. Team B is lined up. Both teams ready to go. Then team A subs in #22 replacing #23. #22 is known for running routes but not blocking. So the coach of Team B recognizes Team A isn’t going to run the ball so he’s now allowed to make a substitution to match up. As #22 comes on the field the ref now is obligated to stand over the ball to prevent it from being snapped and giving Team B time to substitute.
Bob was without question correct in arguing. The refs made a mistake
