Holy cow - who peed in Coyote Fan's cheerios this week? Isn’t it obvious? We just played his actual two favorite teams, and lost. The inner turmoil must be tearing him apart.

After the one-two punch she landed on Sjerven, I figured Cobbin's favorite arena would be someplace with a MMA ring.

77-62 was the final in SDSU’s game Saturday at home vs the Mavs.
Both The Yotes and Jacks had problems in the 3rd quarter against inferior teams on Saturday. Don’t know if it’s a matter of bench players or just losing focus.
Either way it’s really strange how our two teams have mirrored each other this year. The Yotes can seemingly always count on defense, and are often great on offense. The Jacks are the inverse of that, and equally dominant.
I kinda just want to fast forward to the championship game, and get it over with….

Kiyoat that's why we play the games and there are no guarantees that you make the NCAA tournament. What's happening now is narrowing of the gaps between all the teams and also teams know each other and can prepare to offset your strength's and capitalize on your weaknesses. Second is referees have watched all the teams and what you got away with early in the season now they are catching and calling these infractions now. I can agree with you on WSI we caught them past weekend where whole team just shot lights out from three point land even with good defense on them. Even with that we caught them early in third quarter but then again they went off shooting from three point land. They shot nearly 50% from three and when they were in there streaks it seemed liked they were shooting 80% or more and this was not just one player but they had six players make two or more threes. What i fear now most and it could happen to any team is we get to tournament time and we get round of covid and teams are missing key personnel or team has to drop out the tournament. I would hate to see this happen to any team because these athletes have put so much time and effort to get to the end of the season and if that would happen they may never get another chance to even compete. I also think you and Jacks have best chance of reaching the championship game it not given because the gap between teams is narrowing and any number of things can happen in any given game that can lead to upset otherwise like said there would be no reason to play the games. Also i have seen it before too teams peak early and fall off they play very long season and number of games and minutes start to add up and causes fatigue both mentally and physically effecting their play.

You are right, every game matters, and no Summit team is immune to an upset. You’re also right about injuries taking their toll. Two reasons for me to wish we could just fast-forward.
I didn’t love Sjerven rolling her ankle in the 4th quarter of a game we had a 25-30 point lead. I’m sure Jacks fans are nervous Selland might tweak one of her injuries before they have a chance to play in the postseason. For example.

I think we should scale back the “closing the gap” talk. There is only 1 school besides the SD’s in the top 150 of the net rankings and that’s KC at 126, every other team is 200+. Sure schools are closing the amount of points they lose by, but they still have a long way to go. No one is immune to an upset, but let’s face it it’s a SD league in WBB.

With one week left and each team having 1 to 3 games left, here is the outlook for seeds:
1-2 seeds - USD and SDSU have officially locked up the top two seeds. If both teams win out, it will come down to NET ranking (which has been very close). Technically KC can tie USD for 2nd if USD loses out, and KC wins out, but USD wins the tiebreaker.
3 seed - KC has virtually locked up. ORU would have to beat both USD and SDSU to tie KC's record, and win the tiebreaker. (not likely)
4 seed - ORU has virtually locked up. UND can tie with a win over NDSU and ORU losing to both SD schools. However, ORU wins the tie because they beat WIU twice.
5 seed - UND has locked up.
6-7 seeds - NDSU and WIU are still battling for these two spots. NDSU has a one-game lead, but only has one game left vs UND. WIU plays USD, Omaha and Denver. NDSU wins a tie with WIU due to beating ORU once. Technically WIU can still fall into a tie with Denver for 7th (which Denver would win due to having beaten ORU), but this scenario is unlikely.
8-seed - Denver and Omaha are still battling for the last playoff spot. They are tied in the standings due to Omaha beating them this past weekend, and play the same two teams in the final weekend - St. Thomas and WIU. This could go either way. In a tie, Denver has the upper-hand due to their win over ORU.
* St. Thomas is currently in a 3-way tie with Denver and Omaha for last. Wherever they finish won't have playoff implications this year, so I didn't bother to calculate it...

I don't know who will win COY, but if it is based on out-performing expectations, I have to think it will go to either Cussen (ORU) or Bernhard (UND).

Western Illinois game at Omaha on Thursday of this week is postponed These are all going as forfeits of they fail to reschedule, correct? Just like WIU to throw in the towel on some road games. Just like the football spring season when they decided it was too cold to practice so they just canceled their game at the dome.

I think it is the SL telling them they can't play, not WIU trying to back out. If they have to isolate for 7 days, and tested positive on Friday, they wouldn't be able to play on Thursday. Should be good on Saturday I would guess.
