The Coyotes need a bounce back after the Oklahoma game so who do they get other than the #1 Gamecox. Nice way to attempt to get that first win.
So what is the thought of what to expect in this one. Is losing by only single digits ok, or maybe being in a one possession game more than OK. Or is it a win is the only acceptable outcome.
I sure hope for a nice performance but the other team just might have something to say about that happening. I really don't know what to expect but I will take a swing and go 74-59 for the SEC farm animals.

Thanks for starting the thread! I have no idea what to expect, either. We have played them within 10 points before, but something tells me that with the new(er) NET formula, USC will be less likely to “call off the dogs” late in the game, so to speak.
Coach Stahley is a class act, though. Who knows?
Either way I see this as a low-risk, high-opportunity game.

preview article: THE GAMECOCKS No. 1/1 South Carolina is led by 2020 Naismith Coach of the Year Dawn Staley. The Gamecocks were a Final Four team last year, the 2017 NCAA Champions and have 15 NCAA Tournament appearances in program history. South Carolina returns all 11 players from last season's Final Four squad. The Gamecocks, who held opponents to an average 58.1 points per game last season, held No. 5/4 North Carolina State to 57 points in their opener on Tuesday. Staley's squad is led by the No. 1 recruiting class from 2019 and the No.1 recruiting class in 2021. The 6-foot-5 Aliyah Boston, a two-time Lisa Leslie Center of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, will be joined by 6-foot-7 Kamilla Cardoso this season. Cardoso, a transfer from Syracuse, was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Guard Zia Cooke was an honorable mention All-American and the Hemisphere Region Most Outstanding Player last season.

That's a lot of size in the paint! 6-7 transfer that was ACC Defensive POY? tough.

I watched a few minutes of SC's game against NC State. It was kind of odd - a bit of a rock fight with neither team really using their all-american level post players. It wasn't that they cancelled each other out, but more just ignored them. Cardoso didn't play at all when I watched.
That said, I fully expect their guards to be aggressive and try to get our guards to match their athleticism. Good news: we have all-conference level guards. Bad news: they have all-american level gauards.
Should be fun. It has been a busy week, and all of the great games this week has definitely taken the shine off of each of them individually for me. I'm already too tired for tailgating tomorrow, and I haven't even left to go the Pentagon yet...

I know we’re probably about right for our conference, but we need some height…. Bigly…… Especially if we want to win games against power foes in the non conference and come tournament time. (Disclaimer I wasn’t planning on a win today, but I did expect a closer game similar to years past)
Game isn’t over yet but it isn’t going quite as well as I imagined, part of that is due to SC just being an amazing team. But free throws and shots that should be going in aren’t. Still VERY VERY early in the season, so I’m not too concerned, but we didn't pass the eye test tonight IMO.

South Carolina wins 72-41. I did not see the game but what I will ask is how does this change the perception of the team if it does. Are we in trouble in anyone's eyes or is this just a matter of SC just being too good. I believe the last game was closer to a single digit loss against SC. Am I the only only one that thinks the teams needs to get more athletic or are they fine.

How would you propose they “get more athletic?”
