Ava Cosette and her Maple Grove Crimson are playing right now in the semi finals for the Minnesota State tournament, against Hopkins. Broadcast locally in Minnesota, I’m not sure about South Dakota.

She just hit a buzzer beater 3 to close out the first half, from probably 25 feet. Tie game 36-36.
I just saw that she also laser-passed in the assist for the game-winning buzzer beater in the quarterfinal.

OK people, the Yotes are getting a really good one! Between my husband and I, we thought she was a total combination of Chloe Lamb and Grace Larkins. Some great inside moves/ drives, but also good passing and setting screens. Very good outside shooter as well. And a high basketball IQ and court awareness. (Maple Grove High plays in the same Conference as our local team, so we have seen her a couple times this year already.)

Just wanted to mention that Gabby Wilke's big sister, Matyson "Maty" Wilke is playing in the NCAA tournament with Utah, and was just part of the Utes' 68-54 win over the Jacks.
She is a 5-10 Redshirt Sophomore Guard, and played her first two seasons at Wisconsin, where she was coached and recruited by Coach Karius. In the game Saturday, she started the game, played 33 minutes, and had 7pts, 4RB, 2Ast, 1TO, 3Stl, and shot 2-3 2PT, 0-3 3Pt 3-4 FT in the game. Had 2 O Boards, too.
At Wisconsin she Redshirted in 2022, and led the team in 3-point shooting as a RS Freshman, scoring 11.8 Points and hitting 2.1 3-pointers a game. At Utah this year she has started the last 12 games, and although her total production is down from WI, her 3-point shooting (37.3%) and A/TO (1.51) is better. She just has a better team around her
I know that the two girls are two separate people, but college stats are a better indicator of success than HS stats, IMHO. Maty is a ball-hawk on defense and a good scorer from the arc. efficient at ball security. I think Gabby also has some of those traits, plus she is a better rebounder and shot-blocker with her added size.
Hopefully.
The 5-seed Utes play today at 4-seed Gonzaga at 9:30PM CST on ESPN2 if you want to watch her. Jersey #23

Ava just signed her NLI: x.com/SDCoyotesWBB/status/1781334107928039919"We are excited about the addition of Ava and the whole Cossette family," said Karius. "Ava is an explosive wing player, who also uses her length well on the defensive end."

Attended high school at Montini Catholic in Lombard, IL (suburb of Chicago). She played for the Lithuanian national team in the European championships in 2022 & 2023. Her dad played and coached for his native country of Lithuania and coaches basketball in Lemont, IL.

She was followed by Gabby Johnson so she was being recruited 2nd team all state. We might be in for more surprises

Viki Signed: interesting that Gabby Johnson is the only Coyote staff member following her on twitter. I realize that's not very official, or anything. But Coach E and Devin E follow a TON of recruits that we also follow. That level of overlap is really a good thing, I think. She is dialed into the top recruits in the region. Also, I'll say that I recently saw a like of one of USD's tweets about Coach E from Gabby Wilke. Maybe that's a good sign.

Some highlights for Viki. Looks like she can hit from outside, and is pretty aggressive and crafty when driving.

It's pretty much the purest form of old school basketball fundamentals. Her jump shot reminds me of guebert. I like the floater game too. She'll need that at 5'8"
