If 90 and myself are correct in our guess (no concrete inside info), we might just have a Guard committed in this class that may have taken Samuel's spot....

Probably not a coincidence that this happened just after the Yotes got their other commit.
Speaking of which, the player has yet to announce this on her social media (and never posted any of her offers either), so it's possible we will be waiting a while. Kayla did make a passing reference to the commit in the coaches show.

Will this individual shock some people by committing here? And will they help us restore order and get back to our spot at the top? Those are my only questions at this time

Do we have to keep doing this cryptic mystery thing? This is a fan message board, it's ok to post speculations. Who are we talking about?

Others can post if they want to, but my opinion is that the recruit should announce it first. And typically there isn't a long period of time between the coach tweet and the announcement. There's no real reason to put it out there, it will happen soon enough and she won't be on campus for three months. And there will be plenty of time to speculate on her fit and skills at that point.
I have no idea how good she will be, but there are reasons to think they may have gotten someone who was undervalued due to injury. I'm adding that last part because Kayla did publicly comment on the injury at the last coaches show.

But isn't that kind of the fun of a fan board - to throw out speculations and discussions about stuff outside of what the press releases say? Ever since Herbster called out the board in his presser after the UNI football game disaster two years ago, everybody walks on eggshells around here. Whatever happened to CoyoteFan? He was always good for some fun conversation at least.

Like I said, others can share if they want to, I don't feel that strongly about it...there are others who know. And I think I do my fair share of speculating, certainly. It's just my opinion that a high school commit is just a different situation, it's a special once-in a-life moment. And I know I'm the one that sleuthed out that Madison Grange was the incoming transfer two years ago, and if you want to call me a hypocrite, that's fine. But I would still say that is different.
It has nothing to do with Herbie and what he said.
I don't know if there is really room on the roster, but if they are going to be in the portal this spring or summer, I'll be very speculative. 😀

Yeah, I tend to agree. I mean, at the end of the day these are high school kids. If they want to publicly share something online, I'll be the first one to amplify that message. But if they have committed, but are choosing not to announce something, for whatever reason, far be it from me to put those words in their mouth. Let them have their moment. JMO

You do all know you can just direct message each other and have a private conversation if you really want to know.

Herbster's comment was more in the nature of the need to announce Nielson's extension ASAP to stay in front of all the speculation on social media and message boards. In today's world of the transfer portal the team deserved to know ASAP who their coach was going to be.

There it is. Here is the Twitter link so it displays. Tore her ACL in fall of 2022, probably the worst time for recruiting purposes. Also it was mentioned previously that she is now the third D1 commit on her high school team (Mich St, NDSU) and for these reasons she may have been undervalued.

Prep Hoops has her rated 18 in Minnesota. That is low they said because of a knee injury last year. But they said she is a quick athletic guard who uses her length to be a disruptive defender on the perimeter. they say she is a strong ball handler and a effective scorer who can attack the rim or do you in from deep. Sounds good

Great stuff! So here are our 3 2024 recruits:
5-10 Combo Guard Cossette 6-1 Wing Coons 6-2 Forward Wilke
Not lacking in length. Add to that two redshirts from 2023:
5-9 PG Bergstrom 5-11 SG Klosterbuer
That looks like a good senior starting line-up in the year 2028
