Pretty sure I've never seen anyone give up a 10-0 run in 40 seconds before. Good lord. You jinxed it. I wanted Tasos to travel with no defenders on his end of the court and then Archambault to fly into a heavily contested shot under the basket when we have no need for urgency. Insisted on fouling when we had no defensive position, then giving away the rebound on the missed free throw so NDSU could make it 5 points on one trip down the floor. Just miserable basketball.

Up 17 with 8:30 to go. How can it go wrong? Play the worst minute of basketball the world has ever seen!
Team makes incredible comeback to tie it up with 11 seconds left? Better play incredibly soft defense and let them run straight to the hoop for the game winner!
Unforgivable to give up two games to NDSU in this fashion.

I didn't get to see the collapse unfold - the announcers made it sound like it was the Grant Nelson show, but a the team with the lead has to fall apart to lose a lead that fast. That said, what on earth was the discussion in the huddle for defense on the last 10 seconds? "Boogie - you roam around mid-court, but don't guard anyone until they reach the free throw line. Sam Griesel has hit a dozen game winning shots at the rim, so they probably won't try that again - too obvious. Maybe if they score fast enough we can get a shot off too. Yotes on 3. 1-2-3 Yotes"

Q: How in the hell do you lose a 17 point lead in eight minutes? A: Be in the bonus and not get to the free throw line or throw up crap shots and give up a 22-4 run playing like you're trailing. To top it off why not waste two ridiculously clutch three pointers in the final few seconds. Just really a shame to work that hard and then piss it away.

We actually accomplished it in slightly less than 5 minutes.

It is nice to see Coyote fans upset. That doesn't happen often enough. This is NDSU's niche. They always come back and control the end of games. They almost pulled off a miracle comeback against ORU in the Summit final last year. The Bison know how to play when the game is on the line and especially when they are trailing in the last stages of games. That is why I said in an earlier post that when you have these guys down you have to continue to increase the lead cause if you don't there is a good chance you will get burned. The Coyotes got burned.

At least we proved that home or away isn’t a huge advantage… we can choke on any court. Now that’s consistency.

ndsu has been a disappointment this year. maybe 1500 fans tonight. just no buzz. I expect ndsu to get out to a lead, then give up a 12-0 run while coach stands there with arms folded... then make a furious comeback at end. NDSU is -7. which is odd, I'd say -4. if your guards pressure us you win, ps. Grant Nelson is a top 5 summit player but just doesn't get more looks with rocky/sam/eady hogging the ball well. hate to say I called it but.....!!! up 17 your coach didn't emphasize milking clock & going down low.

I would prefer just to pull the plug at the end of this year but that will likely not happen. It is not that Lee is horrible but this just feels like we're are stuck in the jaws of mediocrity.

I feel like the Yotes always play the Bison tough, usually with a lead and find a way to lose. I think that has just as much of the Bison being a good team as teh Yotes letting a win slip away, but the last few years the games have been tight always going in favor of the Bison. kiyoat if you want a comparison that would be something cool to look into.

Now I’m not saying start the “fire Lee” thread like f’ing hawks and their coach but we have the talent to win games like this and we’re not. For a coach that preached defense when he was hired we sure don’t play it very well. His coaching abilities in games like that are really leaving something to be desired.

AT the beginning of the season everyone was writing off the Yotes. Stan is gone to Arkansas and AJ is out for the year is all that was said. They have shown that they can compete and be a threat throughout the season and especially in the Summit League Tournament. I feel like the Yotes have the talent to upset a few teams in the Tourney. They are playing like a team and Fuller is coming back into his own which helps. I'm feeling optimistic

These losses have been frustrating, but if anything, Coach Lee has us overachieving. Little was expected of USD last year and we were painfully close to winning the regular season conference title. Now this year, we lose our best two players without adding much and we're still able to compete with and beat anyone in the conference on a good night. Lee's not at all perfect, but he maximizes the talent he has with good team-centered play. I'm willing to give him a couple more years.
