No, he isn't. He has moved to defensive back. Let's be honest, there wasn't much about the running game that I was happy with last year. There was too much dancing at the line and not enough hitting the hole. Sims is the one who actually did that, so if he starts I give it more chance of success. The offense has a chance to be dynamic, if it is consistent and if there are adjustments made in game, which have been lacking for the last couple of years. Looking at the end of last year, from the UND game on, USD had trouble putting points on the board. If the offense can not play consistently, and leaning on either an inconsistent QB and an inconsistent running back last year, then EWU will take it too them. I do have confidence the year under the belt will help this team, though, but I am still going EWU. Wow, that's really weird that an FBS QB would drop down only to switch positions. He must really suck... lol.

Actually, his best bet to getting some playing time was to move to DB for now. Ed said he'd welcome him to try out for QB after this season but he just got here too late and was too far behind the other QBs for 2011.

It is time to start getting pumped for our home opener in Eastern Washington. I understand alot of flair comes with playing the "big boys" but it is really important that Coyote fans turn out in record numbers for our home opener.
I do undertand the desire to go to Wisconsin or Air Force because of last years game with Minnesota, but our players really will need us for the home games far more than those two.
Please make a commitment to be in Vermillion Sept. 10th. We have a chance to knock off the #1 team in the country in the Dome. If that game was at Eastern Washington, it would be sold out. Let's start a whole new era of selling out and being loud.
Damn, I can't wait.

Had a tough loss to UW today, losing in the finals seconds off a UW interception that would have won us the game. Lots of positives for the Eagles in this game, though, such as QB Mitchell passing for 473 yards, which is the third best performance in Husky Stadium history. Turnovers are what lost us the game. I still feel ok only losing 27-30 to a decent Pac-12 team, though. I just hope we can brush this loss off and focus on South Dakota, because I have a feeling it's going to be a tough one. Looks like you guys had a nice showing at Air Force today.

Be ready for a good game this Saturday. Impressive showing against UW. I would guess the Yotes will bring their best game on Saturday after making too many mistakes out at AF. Will be interested to see if the Yotes defense can slow down the EWU passing game.

Will be interested to see if the Yotes defense can slow down the EWU passing game. Indeed. I do think, however, that EWU will present a far different game plan this Saturday than the one they came to Husky Stadium with. I wouldn't expect to see us passing the pall 69 times this Saturday, as I look to see us be a little more balanced and run the ball on FCS opposition. Should be a good game, and definitely one that I don't think the team will take lately. You all are always welcome on our board over at: www.bigskyfans.com/eagles

Is tailgating a big event on game days? If so how early does it get started? I'm staying in SF on Fri and driving in on Sat. See you there.
(I'll be the guy in red)

Clawman, If you wear red you won't be as easy to spot as you think....you will be joined by about 9,000 other folks in red too. In South Dakota that color means you are a Coyote fan first, a Husker fan second, and everything else is a distant third. The tail-gating has gotten better every year and this year promises to be more of the same. The party usually gets going about 4 hours before game time and everyone is very warm and receptive to visiting fans. Last year we spent an hour across the street from the Dome at Pro's with some Cal Poly fans and they couldn't believe how many people were tail-gating and how nice everyone in SD was. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

It is time to start raising the blood pressure for the upcoming game with Eastern Washington. This team is good.........damn good. The Coyotes need to bring not only their A game, but need to find a certain amount of nastiness on defense if they expect to pull this out.
Also, to our fans, you need to be LOUD all day. Even when things are bleak, you never know when there is a game changing moment. Players respond to loud noise. USD students, get your butts there Saturday and STAY the entire game. Don't walk out at halftime and not come back.
EWU fans making the the trip, we will be on the south side of the Dome tailgating and hopefully having a good day weather wise. I will open shop and bar around 1 or so. Good commraderie is always welcome. We want your stay in Vermillion to be a good one except for the score of the game.
I am really excited about this opportunity. This is a defining moment in our young D-1 career. If we can play, and beat, EWU, then I think we are ready to compete every Saturday. If however we get blown out, then we are further behind the 8 ball than I thought. This is a great time of the year. Let's send the defending National Champs home with an L.

(I'll be the guy in red) Clawman, there will be a lot going on in Vermillion that day. If you get up and want to come to town earlier Saturday - there is a Ribs, Rods, and Rock and Roll festival going on in the Downtown area. The link below has the details. The USD fans will be very friendly, I just hope our players are less so. sdbbq.us/
