I think some of the shine is gone from this game because the first one was such a dud. No one would be surprised with a 15-20 point Yotes win, but everyone would be surprised by a 15 point SDSU win. It's not really fair to the players, of course.
Plus, like kiyoat said earlier, a win for the Yotes would be a Quad 1 win, and keeps at-large hopes alive. In that way, it is a bigger game than Round 1, when an at-large seemed pretty remote.

Nothing to fear. Walk into Frost and beat a very good SDSU team….again. Leave no doubt. Play with confidence and stay out of foul trouble. Refs are unlikely to be kind to the visitors. In the words of Larry the Cable Guy….”git ‘er done”
Prediction: Coyotes by 5

29-27 Yotes at the half. What a grinder

jacks made the shots when needed. its hard to win in the barnyard, think the yotes have the advantage in the denny if sdsu can make it this year

I think we could see this one coming. The Coyote were the better team during the first half of the conference season but as the season has gone on the Jacks have been better in comparison and today was the culmination of that for SDSU. The biggest disappointment was that the defense did not show up when it was needed most.
I would like to say this was a loss that was needed but it wasn't because if the Coyotes don't win the Summit tourney they may be WNIT bound. It now makes it more difficult to get an at large.
The Jacks simply wanted this one more and executed better as well. Other than Kyah Watson there is no other player that is really stepping up enough outside the big three. These are the types of games where you find out who the players are and who the players are not.
The Coyotes were not passing as well as SDSU either. The outside game is just not there for the Coyotes and I really believe they need to start making three point shooting a priority. With no Sjerven next year the inside game is not going to come as easy.
If there is one thing good about this is that the Coyotes should not have a problem being refocused for the rest of the year. The Jacks have now won three in a row at home in this series.

SDSU is a damn good team. That game will be quite the battle at the Denny.

These teams are very evenly matched but things are trending SDSU right now. The bottom line is that there is no other team that is close to these two in the Summit so it is going to take a big upset for a rematch not to happen in Sioux Falls.

It sucks to lose but this loss was needed. I think this helps us reset and get back to who we are as a defensive team. Much like SDSU needed the loss against us to reset their dynamic. I agree that this hurts our chances of an at large, but idk if it takes it away. One things for sure we need to take this game and learn from it for the 3rd one in March. SDSU hasn’t won a tourney now for 2 years they’re gonna be just as hungry for that trophy as we are.

Coyotes out scored state 3 of 4 Qs but gave up 9 more than they scored in the 3rd. Had some D lapes giving wide open shots under the basket and some open 3s (USD had 3 vs 6).
As others have said, great learning experience and film study material and coach P will get them cranked up!!
GO YOTES!!!

It's very difficult to defeat a great team twice in one season let alone three times. The potential match up in March will be monumental. I expect that we will make the changes necessary to be prepared to win.
