Didn't take them long to commit to Kayla in Green Bay.

No surprise. Already had an offer from GB, and they are from Appleton, very close to GB. Kayla was probably the main reason they were looking at USD…
Unfortunately this could be said for several of our other recruits and prospects, including one in the current graduating class, Wilke……

We would have to release her which they would I hope she waits to see who the new coach is. It used to be a disaster but now you can just go to the portal. Keeping Mike Jewell around would help

Wilke quote-tweeted a congrats to them. I guess that makes me feel better about her. It's hard to know what kind of relationships she's created with existing players or with Coons. In some ways I think the portal makes it a bit easier for recruits to still come to the school they committed to, because they can leave without penalty in a year.
Hard to say, I know many recruits do commit because of the coach. We will just have to wait.

Is this a contest where she commits to the school with the most offers? 😂
Does that mean we're winning? 😂

When I saw the above offer to Dolliver, I thought to myself "I sure hope Coach E has already been in touch with Ashlyn". This confirms she certainly has.

Here’s a random thought: do you guys think having Amber on staff helps our chances at all with Koupal? (Yes, I realize it’s a long shot)
When Amber was a senior here, Ashlyn was something like 4 years old. On the other hand, Mandy coached her, and coached with her at CSU….
I’ll take any advantage available.

I have no idea what the chances are that Ms. Koupal wants to go to Vermillion, but I would guess they're pretty remote.
Maybe she wants to stay home in a small town and carry the expectations of being related to the greatest player in program history while attempting to restore the Yotes to a Top 25-type squad. But maybe she doesn't really want that kind of pressure at all.
I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to test herself in a power conference with fewer expectations regarding her lineage while enjoying some of the advantages of "big time" college athletics in a different setting.
But I'd be selling the hell out of staying close to home, continuing the tradition, being the next No. 24 to be an All-American in your home state and becoming a legend.

The chances of Ashlyn Koupal. ending up at USD are much higher now than they were prior to April 10

You're probably correct, but like you said I would be selling the hell out of the opportunity for her at USD. Every kid is different, so who really knows? For some kids the chance to stay close to family is a huge thing.
