Baylor is very good but not unbeatable. They lost both games to Oklahoma by 6 and 1.
Hopefully the Lady Yotes are aware of those scores!!

They did win against Oklahoma in the tournament.

Play tough Coyote D and shock them!!

Baylor is definitely better than Ole Miss, but I'll keep saying it. If the yotes play as clean as they did today, I think they have a good chance at it. Play tough D and find a way to score in the paint. That's the recipe.

I just watched the post-game press conference for Baylor, and was very impressed with their 1st year Head Coach, Nicki Collen.  Not only will she not underestimate the Yotes, but she has been watching film on us for the past week.  Plus she knows and has played against Coach P for a while.

She had some extensive comments about Sunday's matchup (this video is timestamped at the 28:00 minute mark to fast forward to the SD comments):




"I was in an WNIT post-season championship at South Dakota when I was at FGCU, and they had a sellout.  They travel well, and they are loud.  They were actually a lot of fun as I was scouting the game..."

"I've known Dawn since the Green Bay days with Kevin Borseth, and then with FGCU, NKU was in our league at the time, so I'm familiar with her motion offense.  She's got better players now running it..."

"I think Chloe Lamb is a WNBA draft pick.  I think Hannah is a WNBA draft pick." (keep in mind, Collen was recently a WNBA coach in Atlanta)

"They just have players that play their tails off.  I don't think people realize how good an offensive rebounder (Ole Miss's) Mattie Scott is, and they just kept her from even jumping on an O Rebound."

"Fundamentally they are a gap team.  They do such a good job of playing in the gap.  They do such a good job helping and digging.  They give you one shot, because they're so physical.  They've got size at every position.  They are just a well-oiled machine... I've been watching (film on ) them all week."

"I was not surprised to see that result today... (they were) probably under-seeded with respect to their league, probably because those early non-con games that they didn't win... they didn't have that feather in their cap, marquis non-con wins, but they are a really good basketball team."

Here's a recent article on Coach Collen that's a good read. Following a legend is not easy, but she seems to have Baylor not skipping a beat.

Sure seems like a coach with humility that won't take any opponent lightly. Good qualities to have.
