It’s being reported online that Dawn has visited West Virginia.

If she was going to strike, now would be the time.

Well-deserved, if true...
Not what I wanted to read today, though.

I wonder what West Virginia was paying their last coach. Obviously it's more than what we are paying, I'm just wondering how much more it is. I would think Dawn would have several job offers, although I'm not aware of what all is open right now.

This could be helpful on openings. wbbblog.com/womens-basketball-coaching-changes-tracker-2022/Salary for Michael A Carey for 2020 shows $710,577.77.

Oh wow, this might be the only power 5 job that is open. Do you have one of those websites for the men? I've been hoping Hendo would get a different job, but wasn't sure what was all open still.

Unfortunately, you have to be a subsciber to see it: www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaw/2022/03/11/salaries-women-ncaa-basketball-coaches-growing/9432776002/They said in the article that one coach in the Big 12 made over 1 million.

According to the WVU fan forum, there a ton of support for hiring Kim Stephens, a WV girl who led Glenville State to the DII national championship. Announcement expected today or tomorrow.

I hope she picks something nicer than West Virginia when she leaves. Maybe she is interviewing for the experience? I think the long-term health of the Big 12 is questionable.
We've been hearing about "super conferences" of 16 teams for over 10 years now, and the SEC has pulled the trigger to become the first one. If/when the ACC/Big 10, Pac 12 decide to expand again they will pilfer the Big 12 and someone is inevitably going to be left behind. Not sure West Virginia is one who gets left behind, but why risk it?

If/when the ACC/Big 10, Pac 12 decide to expand again they will pilfer the Big 12 and someone is inevitably going to be left behind. Not sure West Virginia is one who gets left behind, but why risk it? Questionable? It's already been decided. You can't lose programs like Oklahoma and Texas and backfill with a bunch of G5 schools and still call yourself a Power-5 conference. Big 12 has been relegated to G-conference status, you just haven't heard the media (i.e. ESPN) make the official announcement yet. The dust hasn't settled and if they did make such an announcement it would be more ammo for the remaining Big 12 schools to sue them for their tampering. But when the dust finally settles on this, make no mistake, when a Big 12 school is being compared to a Power school the talking heads will throw out the "yeah but look at the conference" argument. As to the Big 12's health. Yeah, if Kansas, Baylor, or any of them got an offer from the Big Ten/SEC/ACC/PAC they would be gone in a heartbeat. So not stable. But, we are comparing the Big 12 to the Summit. So yeah, it's still a step up.
