According to the WVU fan forum, there a ton of support for hiring Kim Stephens, a WV girl who led Glenville State to the DII national championship. Announcement expected today or tomorrow. Well in that case, I'll say:

Now the question is... Does AJ stay?

Good for her. The selfish side of me wanted her to be our coach forever but you can't fault anyone for improving their lot in life. Salary will be close to triple what she's making. She gave us her best and she deserves all good things that come her way. I hope we can hold on to all the girls that we have and AJ as well. The transfer portal makes these situations really perilous on the school side.

Was hoping the lack of P5 openings would keep her here at least one more year, but congrats to her and her family. Should have plenty of interest in the vacancy she leaves behind.
As yote05 mentioned, this move could have repercussions on both basketball programs if it leads AJ to move elsewhere.

Her current contract goes to 2024 (two years left) and pays her around $250,000/year, If I'm not mistaken. I'm guessing there were bonuses for conference titles and tournament wins? Would there be a buyout, too?
I'm not sure they would offer her exactly what the previous 21-year coach was making, but who knows.
Of course, I'd much rather have her stay...

This is as unfortunate as it was inevitable. I thank Dawn for all of her years here and everything she has done for our program and wish her nothing but the best at West Virginia.
Remember when the sky was falling when Amy Williams left? Trust the process...hope our players stay, hope our recruits stay committed, and we continue the path of success we're on.

It would seem unlikely that the current roster/recruits would easily follow Dawn to the East Coast.

Well deserved. Glad for Dawn.
We’ll be just fine. Our job should be highly sought after. We upgraded when Amy left. Go find the next Coach P.
