Never thought I'd see the day where USD is offering a scholarship to a 7th grader. That's just wild to me. Five full years of school left. I've got a newborn who could be in kindergarten when this recruit would finally make it to campus.

I guess if she really pans out then the coaches will be able to say they've believed in her since the beginning.

I think this is an escalation of our recruiting war with the school up North.  For a couple of years now it seems like AJ has gotten more aggressive in locking up local kids earlier in the process.  One of his classes has like three girls off of the same SD Attack team.  I could be wrong, but most of these early offers are SD kids.

OR... this staff, full of recruiting coordinators, just has a more aggressive approach to recruiting.  It isn't that out-of-line with what they are doing elsewhere.

Also, she's technically an 8th grader (it's summer), but I take your point.

Interestingly, both SDSU and USD have three players on the same Attack team.  USD has three on the 17U team (Klosterbuer, Broughton, Kieffer), while SDSU has three on the 16U team (Abdouch, Fox, Vasecka).  I think most of them were recruited pretty early on, although they had varsity experience at the time.

State has 5 South Dakota girls in class of 24 they were team mates in AAU ball and when Dawn left they went to State . I like how recruiting is going now Kayla been the head recruiter where ever she been. She knows the game the new asst coach we hired knows the region. I heard she had some top talent at her elite camp
