My Wild-Ass Guess on Abby Hayes is that her tier 1 options are Iowa and Illinois. If neither of those schools offer her, she might still walk on at Iowa? Or USD is in the mix as a backup school, along with 7-10 others.
*edit: she is not going to have to walk-on anywhere, I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that.... It just looks to me like there is a ton of interest on both sides for Abby and the Hawkeyes.

Looks like we are trying to add at least a Libero and an OH or two in this class. If we miss on OH Abby Hayes (likely), then it's possible we are looking at the previously mentioned Mattie Dalton, or.... (followed by Leanne) Elizabeth Layson, 6-0 Outside HitterDuchesne Acad., Omaha, NE Nebraska Elilte AAU twitter.com/ELayson13PrepDig's #22 player in Nebraska, #5 OH

After 5 12 days of open recruitment, it looks like D-1 has 40 official announced commitments:
4 recruits - Wisconsin 3 recruits - Nebraska, Illinois, Oregon 2 recruits - Texas, USC, UCLA, Cal, Georgia 1 recruit - (17 schools) Also, here's Prep Dig's top 20 recruits:1) Macaria Spears----OH (Texas?) 2) Abigail Mullen------OPP (Nebraska/ Stanford?) 3) Abby Vander Wal--OH------Texas
4) Kaci Demaria------OH 5) Campbell Flynn----Setter - Nebraska 6) Teraya Sigler-------OH----- Nebraska7) Logan Parks--------Setter 8) Resse Messer------Setter—-USC
9) Suli Davis----------OH 10) Asia Harvey------OH 11) Taylor Harvey----MB 12) Kirra Musgrove--Setter--Texas A&M
13) Fallyn Blotzer----OH 14) Charlotte Glass--Setter 15) Natalie Wardlow-MB-----Wisconsin 16) Addison Horner--Setter--Wisconsin 17) Madison Quest---OH-----Wisconsin18) Callie Krueger----Libero-Texas
19) Lily Hayes--------Libero 20) Kassidy O'Brien--Setter--Kentucky Just an update on the national recruiting scene right now, after 12 days of official offers and verbal commitments... - Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, and Oregon are almost done with their classes, likely only one spot left. - Texas, USC, UCLA, Cal and Georgia are close behind them. - 10 of the 20 top recruits have made verbal commitments, and 40 kids overall have announced. So some of the first "dominos" have fallen. The initial rush of commits has slowed to a trickle. - Lots of recruits are going to wait until they have attended some camps over the next month to make a decision. Many more will wait until they can do "official" (funded by the school) or "unofficial" (self-funded) visits starting August 1st. - USD is doing their camps in mid-July. volleyball.goyotescamps.com/ - The "Elite" camp is July 17-19. We might see some commits after that?

19) Lily Hayes--------Libero 20) Kassidy O'Brien--Setter--Kentucky Just updated this post.... things are starting to heat up on the 2025 commitments front. There were 7 or 8 new commits today, mostly to P-5 schools, but some mid-majors too. Sounds like a lot of what drives the timing is that coaches like to be able to have recruits do their elite camps in July, often before they will even extend an offer. For their part, many of the potential recruits want to do an official visit or two, so for that they have to wait until August. The camps are a way to circumvent that formality a little. They are able to see the facilities and interact with the coaches without doing a private "official" visit. For some, this is probably enough to make a decision. So how does this relate to USD? Our "elite" camp is July 17-19 next week. My guess is that we might have some guests that have been mentioned in this thread, and probably a bunch who have not been mentioned. Libero seems to be a focus for this class, so I'll be interested in how the Pokharel or Meister question plays out. Outside of that, I don't think we would ever not take an OH or two in a class. No idea on scholarship numbers, as usual.

Our granddaughter (who will be HS FR) attended USD's elite camp last week and also Nebraska's camp immediately after. She liked USD's camp the best because the Coyote players and coaches did a better job of interacting, liked USD's campus and last but not least the food was better!

My granddaughter also went although she’s just a pup. But she had the time of her life. The coaches and players alike are so enthusiastic and very involved. Coach W and her staff and roster are simply amazing. Coaches from all sports could take a lesson from them on how to run a fun and teaching camp. Our volleyball program is a bright star.

so there have now been about 124 kids in the 2025 class that have verbally committed to a Division-1 school. That's approximately 1/8 of the eventual number of kids that will commit. (about 350 schools x average 3 recruits/class = about 1,000).
about 72 schools have at least 1 commit (mostly P-5) = about 20% of schools.
None yet for Summit League schools.
Right now there is an average of about 4 per day.

I have to imagine this is a 2025 recruit?
Someone who didn't need to do an official visit (that period started today)....

Boom! I have to assume Sierra was our top target (based on twitter follows). I think this staff really prioritized the Libero position for this class.
