Very excited here! The season is coming up quick and Yote Football will get going very soon. So who are the significant playmakers going into this fall for the Coyotes? Also, who do you guys see emerging that may have been in the shadows last year or transferred in? I'll start:
Brock Mogensen - looking for him to take over the role of Jack Cochrane as the leader and tone setter of the defensive pack. Needs to be highly productive in all phases with a position switch to MLB. One of the best in the MVFC.
Myles Harden - keep progressing as one of the top DBs in the MVFC; get to the point where he can neutralize the other teams #1 WR, will go a long way for our defense. Ultra talented kid with lots of room to grow.
Carson Camp - has a lot of physical tools to succeed in the MVFC. Need him to have elevated his ability to process information under duress and be comfortable anticipating throwing WR/TEs open instead of bailing out and running all the time. If he has matured in this area, our offense has some major weapons to utilize. Has the arm talent and enough ability to extend plays to be an upper echelon QB in the MVFC.
Carter Bell - our only explosive and consistent WR threat last year. Needs the ball in his hands at least 8 times a game, excluding punt returns, to influence the offensive outcome of a game with his run after the catch ability! One of the top WRs in the MVFC.
Nick Gaes - tremendous upside! Only scratched the surface last year in my opinion. Can he develop into a major run stopper with the ability to get to the passer (he's already really talented there)!
Shomari Lawrence - get back to form. Before his injury last year, he was getting a nice amount of productive touches. Need to have a great 1-2 punch with Travis Theis in this league, now that Nate Thomas is out for the year.
#2 QB ?? - at some point this guy is going to have to come in and win a game or hold on for a short stretch of the season. Who will it be and who has that ability? Hopefully, we can answer that question this fall.
Brendan Webb - long, athletic and should be much stronger and explosive compared to last year. I look for him to be highly productive this fall and hold the edge of the defense, plus do a great job getting pressure of the opposing QBs.
Josiah Ganues - kind of the same as Myle Harden. Capitalize on progress made last year before the injury. Tons of upside and needs to be that guy that takes control of the middle of the field with the graduation of Elijah Reed.
? for the season
- punting game (we've been blessed so back to reality)
- complimentary outside WRs (too many unknowns with limited production or experience) TBA
- Interior DL (do we have the middle of the defense to sustain the physicality vs the higher level teams on our schedule) - hope transfer DLinemen can help asap!
- can we hold up on the defensive backend vs the stud WRs and passing games on our schedule. Minimize explosive passing game.
Thoughts?
