Who pissed off NDSU. Credit them for coming out and establishing their dominance in the run game along with a couple play-action throws to keep us honest. Unfortunately, we couldn’t hold up defensively to the physicality for that many snaps in the 2nd half. Too many 3rd and Long situations offensively and we do not handle that situation very well. I truly hope we are not satisfied with our RB leading our team in receptions in every game with 6 yards a catch like we have recently. This off week will be a savior for us to figure it out offensively

NDSU had more seniors in their two deep than we have on our team. I have a hard time understanding that. We are also pretty beat up. Mogonsen with the club and a shoulder harness, Hillis with a separated shoulder last week and a shoulder harness this week. Our two leading tacklers hobbled. I like our defense, but our offense seems out of sync. Something just isn't gelling. Hopefully the week off allows us to get healthy and work out our problems.

I’m confident the defense is going to be a little, no a lot beat up today. Those kind of games take a major toll on the body and sometimes overall health of a team for the next 2-3 games, so the off week is a blessing.
I feel it’s not about being in sync offensively, it’s about figuring out “who and what are we offensively”. I really think we are a hodgepodge of plays and thoughts but really not a well thought out and dialed in system of play sequencing based off anticipated defensive looks. The run game seems to be strategically designed, but the passing game lacks diversity and the inability to move the pocket and a “why and to who” are we calling that pass concept. Establish play action or bootlegs off the run game makes it easier on the QB to not just sit in the pocket all day. No one can win on RPOs and screens alone.
We do have a good team with some very talented and smart players. Maybe not enough to knock off the boys yet, but who does at this point. Be as good as we can be by utilizing our greatest strengths.
Time to refocus and beat SDSU in two weeks
