In our previous playoff appearance to last year we won the first round on the road and almost won the second game also on the road.

In our previous playoff appearance to last year we won the first round on the road and almost won the second game also on the road. It took a superhuman effort from the greatest Coyote ever for this to occur. And that success led to absolutely nothing.

I think this topic has out lived it's usefulness. Perhaps replaced by The future of Coyote football?

When I'm hanging out with my non-yote friends, if the topic of yote football comes up they just laugh. Nuff said.

It's obvious to me that some of you will never be happy. We were in the payoffs last year and lost with a banged up team. No future? Give me a break!! For those that say give up (or I think will never be very happy) find another team you'll be happy with. Enough whining!!!

We're all still going to be cheering for the Yotes, and many of us will continue to support the department financially, myself included. I'm a lifelong fan and supporter. We've earned the right to joke about this mess for a while.

Many of you are probably aware that Bob's dad passed away 12 days ago. Visitation is being held later today. Here is a link to the obituary. I love the fact that the picture the family chose for the obituary is one of him wearing a USD cap. Condolences to Bob and family. RIP Norm

I agree that this topics a moot point now, but you have to agree going from last year to this year shouldn’t have gone this poor. We can blame it on the OC issue, we can blame it on a poor schedule, we can blame the curse that was sent on us by the football gods. You can be happy with the team and still be unhappy with the results. If you're upset that people are upset about consistent losing records, dwindling attendance and arguably a bad decision by the AD then idk what to tell you. At the end of the day it’s still just a game and we all support our school. It’s okay to have differing opinions.

What's done is done. The administration feels like Bob is the best person to lead our program for the "foreseeable future". herbie and gestring know much more about the goings on of the program day to day than any of us. 99% of us know only what the scoreboard says and what we read on this board. As difficult as it may be, we should probably trust their decision. I have to admit, I didn't see this coming, especially immediately after the catastrophe that was Saturday, but onward we go. hopefully Bob can find a quality OC and maybe shake up the staff a little to breathe some life back into this place. The Dome was a depressing location this fall. We've come too far to fall back into the doldrums of the 2010s.
there is talent on this roster. We have the ingredients on offense, just need the chef to put it all together into a meal. Defensively we have been so inconsistent the last 3 years.
It will be interesting to see what the extension looks like. Hopefully incentive laced so both sides can feel comfortable.

11/7/22 Update after MSU home win:28 fire ..........(56%) -4 5 undecided ..(10%) +1 17 more time (34%) +3 update after loss @ UND: 34 fire...........(62%) +6 3 undecided...(5%)...-5 18 more time (33%) -1 update Monday after season done: (this is the final results- the poll is locked)34 fire...........(61%) -1 5 undecided...(9%) +4 17 more time (30%) -3 about the same, a few more undecideds 56 votes. This might be the most participation in a poll I have seen on here. On Herbster's "message board" comments.... Yikes. No need to address that at all. Shows a thin skin. Look at the first word of this thread's title. "Opinions". Anyone should be free to have one and express it. This is pretty tame compared with many P-5 fan boards, and certainly a better situation than schools without enough fans to sustain a message board at all. JMHO

Not much false in that. I did find it funny that Zim said “stop comparing yourselves to the Jacks football program”, followed by an explanation of how we need to follow their model to build a team from the lines up. That said, I agreed with 90% of it.
