It reeks of Coyote Fan in here. Lol what ever happened to CF? He'd be thrilled to see the majority calling for a change. I think he was (thankfully) banned. Nothing else would have kept him from starting this conversation after week 1.

For those that think 7 seasons has not been long enough, what's your time line and how do we fix this? Will hiring a few new staff members do anything to prevent the inevitable? If we sneak into the playoffs again next year, do we extend Nielson's contract? Is the program really just a few minor tweaks away from breaking out? I thought I saw a light at the end of this tunnel at the end of last season, but it was just a lost firefly.
For the record, if we bring Bob back next year, I hope I am wrong. I hope he wins not 1, not 2, not 3, not even 4, but 5 national championships here.

36-13 right now on the fire Bob bandwagon....sure hope he proves us all wrong. I think you are counting all the "undecided" and "undecided but leaning towards keeping" as in that bandwagon, which I wouldn't count. BUT... Before the YSU game it was something like 55% to 60% for keeping Bob, now it's 60% for firing (30 of 49). I'm glad I started the poll when I did. I think the YSU game was a "last straw" type of game for some fans... it will be interesting to see where these numbers go through the rest of the season. Of course, these are just opinions from a small sample size of anonymous posters, which may include a good portion of Rabbit fans (who knows?). Clearly the AD will do whatever they feel is best for the program without our input. Attendance numbers are probably a better indicator for them (and more important).

I switched my vote from we can’t keep firing coaches to fire him after the season. I hate instability but we need the football version of Craig Smith as our next coach. Yeah he might leave in 3/4 years, but then find the next guy moving up the ladder to build off what we hope is success. I don’t care if the new guy has ties to USD. Doesn’t matter one bit to me. But I would hope we can find someone who already has local recruiting ties. Not sure how hard that will be though.
I remember a half assed report/tweet from (hot take artist) Jeff Thurn right before Glenn retired saying Jed Stugart was the top candidate for USD. It honestly makes me wonder if he should’ve been. He had local ties and a strong track record. Now that ship has sailed with him at Lindenwood.

I haven't seen the fanbase this upset since the Houston Baptist game a couple years ago. Neither choice gives me warm fuzzys to be honest. Whatever the powers that be decide I hope they are completely open and out front with the players way before any of us hear about it. Because if they are not you could be in for a much bigger rebuild than just staff. Just my 2 cents on it on 11/3/22.

It takes much longer to recruit players, build a foundation, and turn things around. So many more moving parts. Basketball, if you hit on 2-3 great signings you can instantly turn the program around as one or two players can make that much of a difference. Double that time frame to 6/8 years.

I agree 100% with you MW. Players and staff need to be aware of whatever happens good or bad before it hits outside. Good luck in today's day and age with social media. Unfortunately, just a gut feeling, but I am quite confident that we will see an exodus of some players that have had some pretty good success over the past few years. Mostly due to the damage done because of poor offensive transition early in the year after the Montana game and things that were overlooked before it. Sad, but just an insightful guess. Hopefully, where there is lose, there is an opportunity.

What's the percentage of players ending up on scholarship at another school? Way less than 50% if I remember correctly. Why leave if you've already established yourself?

Thats just a part of college athletics now, especially on teams that haven't won. Not everybody is going to leave for greener pastures, but there will absolutely be some that try. If you're 2-3 year starter here, some of them might believe they have what it takes to play higher or move to a program closer to home, etc. It happens at every program every season. It's just amplified by losing seasons and staff turnover.

Don’t condone by any means, having players leave not agree, but just a strong hunch it may happen. Hope not because there is actually some nice talent in this roster at certain positions.

Just noticed St. Thomas is coming in at No. 24 in the FCS polls. Time for a change.

Just noticed St. Thomas is coming in at No. 24 in the FCS polls. Time for a change. The St Thomas schedule is rated the 128th out of 130 FCS teams according to Massey. Take from that what you will.
