This game will be a challenge, no doubt.
Hopefully the win against Kansas City gives this team a much needed boost of confidence.

I'm not sure we are a team that can "dictate" the pace like we have been in the past. (hope I'm wrong) I think it might be good to try and slow down a team like ORU, but I have a feeling the total points will be high, like the SDSU game. Not quite that high, though. I think the Jacks are somewhat of a fast-pace team this year, as well.
It's good that we found some scoring in the paint in the KC game, because I think we will need it. Not just in this game, but all the time. We can be a great arc-shooting team, but not reliably. And we seem to be better at 3's when there is a threat of 2's. My wild guess:
ORU wins it 75-70
We played well against KC, but I think we will still see some games where it doesn't all come together perfectly. No shame in that. I think we won't see massive regression, but this is a tough opponent early in the season. We will have a 2nd chance at them yet.

That half was so good. Offensively, defensively and rebounding. Everything was solid. Great effort. Great communication and ball movement. Just awesome.
And maybe the best news of all was that they actually increased their lead and played extremely well with Larkins on the bench with two fouls. That was an utterly wonderful half.

Yeah, pretty hard to beat that half. Seeing some major strides with this group. They are fun to watch when playing like this.

Definitely. Keeping Larkins under 3 fouls going into the second half is huge.

Turning a corner, springboard, whatever you want to call it ... that looked like a basketball team that is growing, coming together and forging an identity.
Kudos to the whole team and coaching staff.

I've been super impressed today. The one over-arching theme I see today is that we are playing with a purpose. It really covers everything; Off-ball movement, defensive rotation, passing, even ball fakes. That is with Grace spending a ton of time on the bench with foul trouble. We are still a better team with her on the floor, but there are other capable pieces here. We have plenty of shooting and shot selection was better today even tough there were still a few head scratchers. The change in defensive effort was palpable. Something they've clearly focused on. ORU plays a little undisciplined and I think that was to our advantage. They press but don't rotate well behind it so we got behind them for some easy layi-ns.
Maybe the team is growing up before our eyes. Let's hope that trend continues. It always looks better when the ball goes in the hoop and that was the case today but it was a great effort all over the floor. Nice work ladies.

Five in double figures. All nine kids that played (basically) had at least seven points and you have 24 assists as a team? If that doesn't put a little pep in your step heading into the rest of the slate I don't know what will.
