We have a full roster and are down 13 to a team with 7 healthy scholarship players. While SDSU is really good you should be able to wear them down but instead they’re wearing us down.

Numbers, wearing down, game plans, scholarships, etc., don’t mean much when your starting lineup makes five FGs in a game. That’s a game you lose. Every time.

Which is why you use your numbers to wear them down with a gameplan that puts your scholarship players in a better position so the starting lineup makes more than 5 FGs in a game. I get what you are saying - I think you are missing what everyone else is saying? FWIW - there was talk on here a few weeks ago that the team is better when Grace isn't scoring 30 pts a game. I'm not sure I think that is accurate halfway through the SL season. May just need to ride or die with her scoring.

If we're being honest, I don't know that AJ would win more games with the players we have, but I think he would have better strategy. Plenty of room for growth in both coaching and recruiting.

I would have to agree with everyone who wants a strategy or game plan that wears opponents out and makes more shots.

The abilities of the players can and will limit strategy. On the flip side, some times shots don't go in. In the past we've overcome that with outstanding defense and in game coaching superiority. Unfortunately for us, those days are gone, at least for now. It's a hard pill to swallow.

I just think you’ve got to look at the fact that it was a winnable game. You’re down 4 at the half and Duffney and Mazurek showed up nicely off the bench. And I totally agree with gopher, if Larkins can get you 30, especially against State, go get 30. They needed buckets tonight and didn’t have anywhere to really get them it doesn’t seem.

We played about as good as our talent . But we can't win 6 for 23 from 3 point line. Holmes could not buy a bucket. Brooklyn Meyer is the best player in the Summit. She lives not far from Vermillion I wonder how hard coach P recruited her. She could play for big ten schools. When Johnson staying we have fallen behind Watson was needed tonite and next year he loaded with some good SD girls. The girls gave a good effect but we need some portal help

It’s going to be the same product next year.

I hate to say it but this team lacks a killer instinct!! state was having a terrible 1st Q offensively and we were stuck on 15 to their 7. Need to be aggressive to the basket and fight like heck for every basket, rebound and loose ball!! Then eventually everything had to go inside so they know what you want to do. As long as I'm ranting it seems like the point guard is getting instructions every time they bring the ball up and it slows down play! That's not necessary! Another thing--movement without the ball is half speed--make the other team work hard to keep up, you've got the deeper bench!
There is still a lot of season left let's work on intensity and toughness every minute of every game!!!
Go Yotes!!!

State has some ballers and they earned that win. I really don’t think we were prepared, mentally or physically, for this game though. Kayla has her work cut out for her, whether some want to acknowledge it or not, as state is the bar for the summit league and we are far from their level.

The sad part is, state isn't that good of a team compared to other SL teams we've seen in the past 10 years or so. The Yote teams with Seekamp, Chloe/Sjervs, etc. State teams with Miller and Selland. All those teams would wipe the floor with the state team that's now won 40 straight in the summit league. It's pretty wild how far we've fallen in terms of level of play.
