This just showed how the coaching staff have no class at all. Senior day and you don't start the seniors. They don't even put 2 in until 20 seconds left. What about bringing them out 1 at a time for some recognition. Several people walking out were downright pissed. Absolutely awful!!!!

You may be right, but watching from home it didn't feel like the outcome was certain until the very end. Of course that meant the last 4 minutes were poorly coached. It might have just been cluelessness as opposed to classlessness.

That game was certain only when the final quarter ended. UND gave up 100 points each to the top 3 schools and we barely got away from them. I agree that the seniors could’ve been given that final bow but that’s hard to do when you only have a single digit lead.
End of the regular season though. I am not impressed with how it went. It may have been a 20 win season but it’s been a brutal one to watch. 0-0 now heading into the tourney, let’s get something going to build on for next year.

Yeah, I don't think it was a "class" thing, but they whiffed on it. They felt the game was still in reach.
They were up 13-15 at the 4-minute mark. Put Grange and Hansen in so then can take them out. It's not like that cannot play at all. If you have to go back to the starters when you pull them out then so be it.
UND is a hot mess right now. That was not a good performance from the Yotes. St. Thomas won their game so that is their opponent. The Yotes should win, but I'm not expecting it. They just haven't given me any reason to believe they are anything more than an average team.

They just haven't given me any reason to believe they are anything more than an average team. We’re average at best. This is a team that a full strength SDSU team or the Yote teams from the past would beat by 40+. Last year we were lucky to finish middle of the pack given the circumstances, this year we were also lucky to finish middle of the pack with a fully healthy roster. Seems like this might just be our new home unfortunately.

The new coach's high school recruits have yet to set foot on campus. There is too much fan and administration support for this program for me to think it can't be resurrected. It wouldn't take much to turn this around...but as we've discussed, they probably need to wait a couple years to be able to challenge for the conference with what the Jacks have.

Quick reminder that we have shown SL can be a 2-bid league, regardless of how good SDSU is. The goal should be at-large bids for this program.
- Side note. Start the seniors. Its not like they are end-of-the-bench walk-ons, and no seeding was in play. That was a miss - coaches should be embarrassed, and I hope they apologized to the seniors.

That was hard to watch. We won, but it felt like a loss. We play with no heart or grit. Fans want to cheer just give us a reason. If you play with grit and heart I’ll cheer for you even if you never win. And that lack of heart, grit, and culture is on the coaches. Also let’s hold the front of the bench to the same standards as the end of the bench. Tired of seeing a particular players bad body language on the bench when the shot isn’t going. Get up and cheer! And I’m over the “these aren’t her recruits”. These girls were recruited by many coaches. All who I am sure have different coaching styles. Coaching involves developing that talent and coaching to the talent you have. High school coaches never get to pick their recruits. They build and coach on what they have. So many mismanaged things this year. The senior thing last night could have been handled differently. With all the staff on the bench stuff like that shouldn’t happen. Also noticed recruits in attendance. One was Ava Cossette a 24’ 🤔 lol and another a local from Mitchell 29’. Unsure of the other ones.

Sky isn’t really falling when you’ve won 20 games. You just gotta get THE KID (or two or three). There’s a certain level of skill and moxie in this game (that this program has seen more than its fair share of over the years) that manifests itself in the highest confidence even when you may lose. Just gotta find/develop a bit more. It’ll happen.
On the Senior thing. That’s a slip. Especially in a game where you’d think getting everybody excited and feeling good for each other results in a fairly easy win.

To win in Sioux Falls we have to shoot better not just a couple players. Plus keep TO down

I was told today that one of the officials asked one of our assistants if they could stop the game for a moment when the girl from ND got her 2000th point. Her response was " absolutely not". Also pretty sure if Im Morgan I would say' no thanks' to play for the last 20 seconds and be humiliated. Great effort on Tory and Walkers play yesterday. If our other post player would work that hard, we could have easily got second in the Summitt. Wishing this team the best in the SLT.

I mean when we lose, we suck and when we win, we still suck. I'd just really like to know what all you basketball savants out there specifically see or don't see. Personally, what I don't see talentwise is any present or future All-Americans, mid-major POY candidates or pro players as in the past. Certainly not an indictment on the players on this squad and I do feel that they're playing up to their ability. Call me naive if you want, but it's better than doing nothing but criticizing, bitching and moaning about every single little thing. This coaching staff didn't come in with everything prebuilt for them like the previous regime. Other than Larkins they had to start from scratch utilizing players with basically zero experience.

Not sure how you want me to explain that. That is vibe I get watching the games. There doesn’t feel like a buy in and it is not all on the players as some elude too. There is a professional staff in charge of these young ladies and the culture.

All sorts of agendas and personalities and ideas and families and friends at least peripherally and sometimes directly involved with any team. Sometimes just saying “coach em up” isn’t that easy. And unfortunately for us, nobody but the people in the locker room really knows what goes into that often elusive “buy-in” mix.

You are right culture is not solely on the coaches and players. Fans/families/ etc. do also add to it. Regardless of what has led to it I hope we can get it turned around.
