Last week of the regular season. I'm fairly certain we are locked into 4th place.... Even if we sweep and ORU loses their final game at KC, The Eagles have the head-to-head tie-breaker. And we are 2 games ahead of St Thomas with an edge in the tie there as well.
So this is more about putting it all together and playing our best ball right before the SLT.
Predictions: Yotes lose to Bison 68-71 (+3) Massey Yotes lose to Bison 66-69 (+3) WN
Yotes beat Hawks 76-64 (-12) Massey Yotes beat Hawks 76-61 (-15) WN
very similar computer lines this week. The question then, is more about matchups. We matched up horribly with ORU, and opinions differ about how we match up with NDSU, but they did beat us pretty handily last time. Both teams are probably better now than at the start of the season, .... but the Bison look pretty solid right now. I'd take them against the spread. Likely a double-digit win IMO. I'd be encouraged with a single-digit game right now.

20-win season is the ceiling for this team in my opinion. We should get there against UND. That may be the end of the road though if we don't find something in Sioux Falls.

NDSU has recruited well hope for a 10 point lost on the road. I hoping for a upset but they been playing lights out a bison jack matchup could be interesting

They'll find a way to win one of these games. My hunch is the UND game. Stringing good games together is a struggle for this team. Thus, the hopes for a miracle of stringing 3 games together at the Summit League Tournament are kind of slim.

Well, to hold them to 63 points and only one three-pointer is pretty good, no? I didn't see the game but obviously they just couldn't get in a flow.

Now on to the final regular season game. UND is coming in on a 3 game losing streak to #3 ORU 102-57, #2 SDSU 107-80, & #1 SDSU 103-47. Ouch

Last night was a missed opportunity. NDSU was not on their game offensively and we just couldn’t capitalize on it. Not sure if NDSU was looking ahead to Saturday or what. Rebounding was not good. Some of the fouls were touch fouls. Defensively not bad, aside from a few that look like they don’t know how, don’t want to, or are resting for the offensive end. (Yep I said it) Here’s hoping we put together a nice showing to end the season at home! (visions of Omaha game run through my head)

(visions of Omaha game run through my head) Let’s give Omaha some credit they are much better than their record indicates and honestly would probably beat us 6/10 times. No team should overlook them. The loss stings but honestly they all sting at this point while SDSU looks at another sweep of the league. UND is bad though, and a loss to them at home will have me seriously pondering some things. We should be able to put them away early and for good considering they’ve given up 3 100 point games in a row. But we don’t usually do that so just expect a win with probably several near heart attacks and for you to give prayers/sacrifices to the universe to ensure we win.

(visions of Omaha game run through my head) If you’re resting for the offensive end you better be a threat to get 40 and your teammates better understand they’re pulling some of your weight on that end because you’re pulling some of theirs on the other. And most of the time it’s still gonna get you in the end.

The defense was pretty good except for the rebounding. The rebounding had been pretty good the last few games. It seemed like a combination of not boxing out, odd bounces over the box outs, and butter fingers. Grace is very good at anticipating where the ball is going to go on a missed shot, but she had only two rebounds (which supports the “odd bounces” theory). The offense for the most part stunk, but for a couple of players, in terms of shooting, and that is the main reason for the loss. The rest shot a combined 22 percent and 14 percent. On the good side, the number of turnovers was low. There were not as many bad throws into posts.
Of course I am biased, but it seems like we get called for a lot more fouls where is there is little contact. I have thought that all season.

Grace was tasked with guarding Evans for a good portion of the night. So she had to hold her box out on her and was not able to get to some of those rebounds.

This just showed how the coaching staff have no class at all. Senior day and you don't start the seniors. They don't even put 2 in until 20 seconds left. What about bringing the out 1 at a time for some recognition. Several people walking out were downright pissed. Absolutely awful!!!!
