Well if Demers ends up in Grand Forks, I'm sure she will be starting. They already have 3 in the portal, including a Center, and Denver has 4 Guards that have declared.

I have no idea on what we are losing with Joy since injuries kept her off the court both years.
I really hate to lose Walker. She really could have used a red-shirt year as a freshman, but injuries to others forced her to play. She was starting to play much better towards the end of this season and was a force inside, but foul troubles really limited her playing time.
Grafton is only 40 miles from Grand Forks, but not sure why anyone would transfer to UND given the current state of their program. I thought they had turned the corner one year ago, but they really regressed this season and were a complete train wreck by the end of the season.

I won't update the recruiting matrix until we know for sure they have moved on. They could still change their minds.

I think Walker would’ve made a good post player in time but it seems like they decided she wasn’t worth developing into one or would run schemes that didn’t align with her abilities and expect her to execute it perfect.

I think Walker would’ve made a good post player in time but it seems like they decided she wasn’t worth developing into one or would run schemes that didn’t align with her abilities and expect her to execute it perfect. 2 more? Yeah, I suspect we are referring to the same comment. Demers may be surprising to some, although the folks that frequent this board know she's had some people in her ear about how she's not being used/developed properly. Bergstrom is sort of a surprise and sort of not. She stuck it out for two years here despite the injuries. It's pretty much an unknown at this point if she will ever get back to the same. It's pretty tough to be a long way from home and not able to practice or play at all so I can understand her thought process. As for who else may be entering, hard to say. Hopefully it that's true it's not a main cog. This all may make us players in the transfer portal as well in terms of going after some players. Would be nice if we could find some real size. |
