Hopefully spring game will be televised for those of us not within close driving distance! Have we ever had a spring game televised?

Yes several have been streamed or televised. Not last few years.

What do you guys feel needs to be accomplished in the spring practices? Also, who and what positions need to emerge by the end of the spring? Exciting times because there will be some new blood getting shots this fall.

Exciting times because there will be some new blood getting shots this fall. Offense should be loaded missing only one starter, albeit a very good one in Isaac Erbes. Defensive line and backfield will miss some good to great players, but there was depth at those positions last season and a lot of strong experience returning. The most interesting position will be the linebackers. Be some new faces needing to step up to replace some real playmakers. That should be the most interesting competition for playing time.

Top of mind for me is developing depth along both lines, continuing to replace outgoing linebacker talent, finding the right combination of DBs, improving our pass rush, developing a reliable back up QB, no injuries, and inspiring new leaders to emerge.
On another note, this is the first time in my Coyote lifetime we’ve returned most of our roster coming off a playoff appearance (especially our QB). I’ve never been more excited for a season!

Hope blooms in Spring. I was not expecting the amount of success we had last Fall but couldn’t be happier with the results. Just hoping some new faces make names for themselves and established starters take the next step!

Defensively I think we have some holes to fill and really don’t expect to be as good as last year because what we’ve lost is that significant. But my biggest concern would be linebacker.
I think special team will be solid
Offensively I think on paper we should be really good. We need depth at QB. I do think Bouman has deficiencies in the quick screen game and extending plays but should be good if he stays healthy. Haven’t really seen enough of anyone else to make a comment on his back up nor could I name the back up. RB is rock solid with each having their own style of play. I will take Galbreath Bell and Martens as a combo over anyone else in the conference but there is no depth at TE or WR.

Complete agreement with Linebacker being the biggest area of concern. Losing Mogenson, Hillis, and Webb is a lot of all conference talent leaving. Add to that Mogenson and Hillis' backups are gone as well. Defensive line doesn't worry me nor does the Defensive backfield though it will be tough to replace Harden. Lots of experience there.
Offense should be strong and better than last year.

I think we'll take a step back this year mostly due to reverting to the mean. Just about everything went our way last year and we won't be as good defense.

There is alot of dudes on the roster at LB. I think we will have the next wave but could be some struggles there early while those guys get acclimated. The good news is the back end is strong enough to pick up the slack as those guys get rolling. D line is the biggest concern for me. we seem to do fine against anyone not named XDSU on the D line but thats where we need the jump talent wise and also in size to raise the ceiling. Offense: we are strong everywhere but hoping a playmaker or two steps out of the receiver room that we have not yet heard much about.

The one thing I have noticed over the past couple years is that the recruited talent has gotten a little bit better and better. Hopefully that pans out in the LB and DL rooms. The one good thing is that you get to see where your at in the spring and then you go "shopping" in the portal to fill any anticipated needs, plenty of good players out there. I'm excited to see the DB from Monmouth University because he was highly productive and can hopefully fill Myles Harden's shoe.
My biggest concern is our backup QB spot. 100% that has to be addressed in the portal NOW. We are 1 play away from having to play someone that is not able to win in the MVFC. Nice kids I'm sure, but we need to get that now. The offense should be very well prepared to make a leap this fall and we have a few players on that side of the ball that are in the top 3 in the conference at their position so agreed we need a little depth at TE and WR to show out this spring.
Exciting times!

I hope Bouman stays healthy and we aren't forced to play a backup QB. I don't know much about any of the backup QB's and none of them have been on the field enough with the Yotes to know how well they will perform, but I have heard a lot of good things about Synek.
