In any case this will be a great chance to reestablish some momentum and begin to rebuild our credibility as a top mid major program. Yote18 doesn't need me to defend themselves, but let's parse this out. "...this will be a great CHANCE to reestablish SOME MOMENTUM and BEGIN to REBUILD our credibility as a top tier mid major program." I mean, was that observation akin to saying they're absolutely going to contend for the conference title or "watch out Jackrabbits!" Were there not enough qualifiers and caveats in that statement? π Look, it's not a big deal and this is not anything I'm going to argue about, but can we be save the doom and gloom until they actually play a game and be a bit excited about a non-conference schedule announcement in June? Yeah, there is a completely new coaching staff with a ton of new players. I don't think there are many who post regularly that don't think there will be growing pains, and they may indeed show up on Nov 16. But let me enjoy mid-June. ππ

Huskers are damn good!!

Don't conflate doom and gloom with realistic expectations. I would almost guarantee we'll be better than last year right out of the chute. Hard to say what our ceiling will be next year but we won't lose BECAUSE of coaching.

I don't remember the years well anymore, but we played South Carolina tough a few times - and then got blown out of the water at the Pentagon. Pretty sure USC won the natty and Yotes went to Sweet 16. I think both sides of this conversation can both be right at the same time.

First, I don't understand how anybody doesn't like the Pentagon as a venue.
Two, this is pretty cool to get Williams back in state against the Yotes and give the new regime/new players a real early measuring stick type game.
Three, I want to see if the Prince hype is all it's cracked up to be.

Lol. Yeah, I get the leg room thing. I'm also on the taller side of things so I just kind of figure I'm always going to be folded in somewhere wherever it is.

Iβm well aware of the unknowns but Iβm also very optimistic about this hire and Iβm glad the staff is willing to take on a quality opponent unlike the prior. Some of yβall would rather us continue to schedule lower tier teams for the sake of wins while some would rather we schedule tougher, even if it means a loss, to grow as a program. A healthy balance is the right approach for us and one Iβm sure weβll have to, again, give us a CHANCE to get back to the top. Everyone here can agree we donβt know how the season is gonna play out but I for one would rather be overly optimistic than a negative Nellie before it even begins.

No negative Nellie here just not putting the cart before the horse. Iβm all for being optimistic and having lofty expectations but I usually base that on having some background knowledge. And as I said before, too many unknowns to publicly put anything out there. Unless of course some of you have the privilege of getting your eyes on some of the summer workouts. I will say this; our coaching staff looks like a coaching staff. Other than Jewett last year we were very green behind the ears IMO. I like the Nebraska game. Itβs no easy task. But you canβt be the best if you donβt play the best!

Freddie Prinze Jr. is all over content creation these days. I don't know how much hype there has been, but he has a YouTube channel about tabletop gaming, video gaming and Star Wars. More recently he hosts a podcast about WWE: "Wrestling with Freddie". Also still married to Sarah Michelle Gellar, so.... WINNING!

She was number 16 recruit in one list and 28 in the other. But she is a freshman who played for a B school and this will be one of her first games.
