Getting this thread going. Not sure what to expect yet. I'm hoping we used last week as a learning opportunity and cleaned up some things. Wisconsin isn't what they have been in the past, but it's still a B1G opponent and a tall order. Play a competitive game, stay healthy, and let the chips fall where they may.

As with all the FBS opponents in the past years, it comes down to how well our OL and DL matchup in the trenches. Obviously, they will be bigger and stronger across the board plus have more of them, but can we at least provide enough resistance to allow our QB to have a little time and not let their RB get up on our DBs untouched in the run game consistently. On top of that, can our DL affect their QB enough to get him off his spot and not work through his progressions at a leisurely pace.
I would say that the talent level with us and Western Michigan is not that different plus Northwestern did beat Wisconsin last year with a lesser talent base but an absolutely terrific offensive scheme that gave Wisconsin fits. Wisconsin is not what we saw last year in Missouri nor the previous year with Kansas State so I'm pretty confident we can compete well. Like any of these games vs very good FBS teams, hang around-hang around & let them get frustrated that a lesser opponent won't go away, then see what happens at the end. A nice group of FCS teams have competed extremely well with teams that should have spanked them on paper.

I watched a lot of their game against Western Michigan, and they were not very impressive and the crowd was pretty restless. What I hope losing the TOP against Northern did was allow our defense with a lot of fresh faces to work out their kinks heading into this game. I wish our passing offense had looked a little more dynamic, but I occasionally have to remind myself this isn’t the Schlafke Air Raid anymore. This is a run first offense, and I am perfectly comfortable with that. We must tackle well. I would love to see another special teams return TD. I don’t remember seeing Keondray on the field for any offensive snaps. Will they break out his speed to help with motions and jet sweeps to help freeze the defense at the snap? I would hope they went very vanilla against Northern, and hopefully have something up their sleeve they can execute if needed.
Leaving Friday morning and CAN NOT WAIT.

Hopeful optimism. My biggest concern is that Wisconsin did not look great against Western Michigan and that has the attention of the coaches and players. What I do know is how easy it is for P4 players to overlook FCS teams. No matter how much it is drilled into them not to overlook us, they will. We need to take advantage of that. Hope they look ahead to the following week's game against Alabama. We are definitely a trap game.

If we see the Wisconsin team that played Friday night, I really like our chances.

We’ll need to use the power run game in certain situations, but our speed will be our weapon. We definitely hid some of it. It’s going to be fun to watch. We can play with Wisconsin.

I might be delusional, but I anticipate a final score of USD 17 and Wisconsin somewhere between 20 and 24. Wisconsin really was not impressive last week. If we can hang around and force some turnovers…

Game day gentlemen. Ribs ready to go on the smoker, beer in the fridge, Coyote flag flying high, and a wife that understands I'm unavailable for house projects all afternoon. Life is pretty darn good.
As for the game, let's open up the playbook today. I'm hoping Aiden gets enough attempts to find a groove in the passing game. Avoid giving up the big plays on defense and force a couple turnovers. Do that and we should be in the game. I can confidently say we are a better football team than Western Michigan and they gave Wisconsin all they could handle.

Not a great start. Absolutely gashed on the first drive. Pushed around up front and beat with speed on the outside.
Let's hope we can adjust or the competitive part of this game will be very brief.

I mean, Northern also gashed us the first drive last week. We've seen it now. Hopefully they settle in.

2nd TD was illegal as hell. At least 2-3 OL downfield blocking on that RPO. Hard to get passing game going if Bouman thinks he has to get it out so quick every pass. Get a stop and get it back again

I'm really not hating what I've seen so far. The line of scrimmage hasn't been all that lopsided. I feel like we've protected Bouman decently well and done some nice things on offense. They've really only beat us on big plays so far.
