I know this game isn't for a couple of weeks, but I see it has been announced that we will be playing at 6:30pm on ESPNU. Great opportunity for our team and University to shine for a national TV audience. (I would be remiss, and it has been pointed out, I am not looking past this week)

Have to take care of business first. |

NDSU, SDSU, and USD are very very close. Any given day.
Even though the Jacks lost they are still a darn good team. Us 3 plus Montana State and that’s your top 4

Here we go! Going to be a fun week for sure. It will be extremely interesting to see how our defense defends SDSU because they can run and throw and the wildcard is their QB is a heck of a runner when needed. We will have limited to sporadic success running the ball and unfortunately we do not have a QB who can make plays with his feet like NDSU's kid did over and over to help them get out of trouble. How can we dial up an effective passing game to "run" the ball at times and help eliminate the need to drop back in 3rd and Long all day. This is exciting!

I had similar thoughts when watching the state game last night. Defense will have to be much better against the run and specifically all the zone reads/formation challenges state will throw at us with Mason specifically. Gronowski struggled a bit in Fargo so we may see even more of Mason next week. |

Maybe it's just me but there was nothing impressive about either SUs offenses yesterday. They lacked scheme and dynamic plays and resorted to lining up and running head on into each other. I mean, it was a hard fought, physical game but it lacked in creativity on offense.
I think our OC is much more creative than what I saw from those teams last night and it will show on Saturday.

Seemed like they both played pretty close to the vest. They just beat the crap out of each other. I still question whether we can consistently match either team's physicality. I honestly won't believe we can until we prove it. I think they still have an edge up front, albeit it is smaller than it used to be. |
