Big Keys for this one will be if our defense can avoid huge chunk plays consistently and steal a few possessions with getting a couple turnovers. SDSU is just as good as ever offensively except for at the running back position compared the past 3-4 years (still very good but not quite as dynamic). They are terrific offensive coaches and will scheme the heck out of us defensively so I hope we have a few wrinkles in our coverage that they haven't seen from us yet. Can't let them gash us in the run game because that sets up their extremely effective play-actions.
On offense, we will get limited opportunities for big play shots down the field because of how disciplined they are in coverage so Adams is definitely going to be window dressing in my opinion and take the top off the zone coverage. He may get a man to man look once, but not often. They do a terrific job of protecting the deep part of the field, hashes and flats, so the plays will be in the middle of the field in the intermediate and short hook zones. JJ Galbreath at TE and Bell and Jack Martens at WR should be huge targets in this game because they can run fast, but most important, understand how to work into open zone windows and control their speed to stop efficiently to stop. Plus each one of them can win in man to man coverage when it presents itself. NDSU had a slot that had a big day because he found voids in the zone coverages and won his 1 on 1s in man coverage on the last drive. Running the ball consistently is going to be tough as all get out this Saturday, so Bouman needs to be on a quick with decisions and delivery!

Bouman will have to be good with his processing and decision making. He also needs to protect the ball. If he can use his feet to escape the pocket and pickup the occasional 1st down, that is great. But he needs to have good ball security.

Besides that... it's just bad grammar. This is an "Intra-state" rivalry (within the state), not an "Inter-state" rivalry (between two states).... I thought the name connection referred to Interstate 29. It refers to a Montana bank trying to enter our market.

I see on X that Gaes is listed on the depth chart, so maybe he will be good to go. I’ve also seen a few computer projections (such as SP+) that have SDSU only favored between 2 and 4 points. Massey favors them by two touchdowns, but I just don’t think it is as accurate for football as other sports. I don’t see us winning by a lot, but we could lose by a lot if we’re still not as as strong. We’ll see. What I'm seeing now: Massey: .....Rabbits win 27-14 (-13) Sagarin: ....Rabbits win 28-21.5 (-6.5) FCS Reddit: Rabbits win 27.5-21 (-6.5) I'll guess the Reddit sportsbook leans heavily on Sagarin's numbers. Will be interesting to see actual betting lines.

I would guess Vegas will have it somewhere right between Massey and Sagarin.
9.5 feels about right.

I wouldn't be us surprised to see us win by 10 or lose by 30. Wide range of potential outcomes.

Last year our defense was rock solid for a few drives, but then the dam broke and there was no stopping them. Didn't help that our offense wasn't giving them a chance to breathe. Playoff loss to NDSU felt pretty similar.
Can our front 7 hold their own in a full game? Really hope we aren't missing Gaes or Bryant. Obviously will need offensive production to keep them from being on the field the whole game again. Hope we have Theis back to complete our dynamic run game and sustain drives.
Seems like weather won't be a factor. Far cry from all those end of season games we had up there.

Why do you pull your qb out on the biggest 3rd down play of the year? If anything snap it to the running back. Absolute worst call in the last 10 yrs. Offensive coordinator lost this game!!!!

I think Bouman might have been hurt. We ran the same play earlier and picked up 10 yards. At some point you have to trust them to execute the snap. We run shotgun 90 plus percent of the time and had a half dozen terrible snaps today, which is a lot for that sample
