It would be great if the yotes would help Frost set an attendance record. There should be someone from the family there to witness the game. However, it seems that the sights are really on a game that might occur in Sioux Falls. That would be really nice if the yotes would just roll over so the Jacks might get a little closer to the regular season conference title. Since the Jackrabbits are looking only to the next game, you are the next item of attention. USD will be the rival Thursday night and again I hope there is an attendance mark set.. I hope you guys can wait until March for more attention after this game since the Jackrabbits still have 6 more conference games after Thursday. Enjoy the season.

JackJD, Good point as usual as to using attendance figures alone to judge what constitutes THE college basketball rivalry in the area. Clearly my fingers were typing faster than my brain was engaging. =) Anyway, my family and friends on both sides of the rivalry all agree that folks who believe that the "THE game" designation belongs to the State/Bizon game and not State/U are pretty much in denial. I believe my Jack friend said it best when he said, "Those are just holdovers who are still pissed you guys are D-1 now, a loss to USD still hurts way worse than a loss to NDSU any day of the week." The attendance figures for the game on Saturday were fantastic, but I will be surprised if that number isn't broken when the Yotes come to town. I'm probably in the minority but I wasn't in school during any games. I will not deny that USD is a rival. It's an in state team and there's nothing you can do about that. That being said, I circled the NDSU game at Frost back in November and we had people from Des Moines, Twin Cities, and Omaha come in for the game. We actually had some people that were going to come in from Dickinson & Washington but couldn't. All were State fans. I actually had no idea the USD game was this Thursday until someone asked me if I was going last week. That's the truth. I think it will grow on me but State doesn't consider USD a threat (yet). They will be soon. But I sure as hell don't want to see USD in Sioux Falls. Your team definitely steps it up during that game. Not a threat? Last I checked SDSU was 0-1 on the season against USD. I'd classify that as a threat.

why dont we all take a step back and look at this.. USD beating a rival team on there home floor doesnt mean a thing, we got rolled by 30 at frost last year. We have played some solid games this year but we have also given up so easy ones. I believe this team has the talent to be in the top half of the summit, or at least play decently close to the top teams. We never know which USD team is gonna show up on any given night. So before we go around saying that we are contenders lets just see how the game turns out. IF we would beat SDSU at frost we might have an argument but until that happens we look like fools saying we are good cause we beat them. Our record looks sketchy the way it is already and we have a VERY tough conference schedule to finish the season.

The Coyotes do have a good team they just lack consistency. I think it is funny that some rabbit fans thought the jacks would be years ahead of the Yotes since they've been in D1 longer. They are WRONG!! GO YOTES!!!

Yep, the yotes are way ahead of the Jacks. The first year the Jacks were in the Summit tournament, we had 13 wins for the season. 5 more wins and you tie number and you blow right by us with 6 wins!! Speaking of bones to chew on, the first year SDSU beat the number 2 seed Oral Roberts in the tourney. At least you will be a better seed. You have 9 games including the first tourney game to get the 6. Good Luck! We all need a stronger conference.

jackl, Easy there cowboy, two of State's wins their first year (2008-2009) were also against NAIA schools, Mayville State and an embarassingly close 69-65 win over Upper Iowa which if memory serves me correctly had people calling for Nagy's job on your fan board. Kind of goes with the territory in more ways than one in terms of scheduling and in what we have seen from folks this year on our board after tough losses. None of it really matters come tournament time. Three wins and your in.

There it is........you won your Super Bowl.....all is well You rabbits really need to get over your tired Super Bowl comments. It is a good coping mechanism but it is time to retire it. All I am saying is you might want to think twice about popping off on our board when your team hasn't beaten the team you are mocking.

The fact remains that the bunnies are 0-2 in the Dome even though you do have a better than average team. Our win in Oakland this year was impressive too right? You've had some good times but the Yotes are in the mix now and in the future!! Your head start of a few years has already evaporated!

RJ I gotta say you gotta stop complaining after most fouls like the Coyotes are getting some kind of a raw deal. This happens every game. If every call is a bad call against the Yotes how are we supposed to know what fouls are truly bad fouls and which ones are legit. The cheerleader announcing goes way over the top. It would be nice to have a little bit more objective play by play. This game has not had a problem with the officiating.

63-55 Jacks Final
As Coyote fans we can't be happy to lose this one. I thought this was a very winnable game. The Jacks didn't look like a team that the Yotes shouldn't be able to beat at home.
On the flip side other than winning the conference title which is probably gone the difference between being the top seed and either 2 or 3 isn't necessarily that big of a deal. As long as USD stays at 3 or better we won't meet them until the chamionship game of the summit tourney if neither should get beaten on the way there.
The Yotes just need to focus on cleaning some things up and being ready for that tourney. I thought most of the fortune went of the way of the Jacks tonight. Alot of close in misses for the Yotes.
This team has probably overachieved a bit through tonight but I think that overachievement can continue. The Jacks had more energy tonight, maybe depth had something to do with it who knows. The rebounding numbers told the story. 21 second chance points for the Jacks.
A win would have been nice but this team continues forward and no one is going to want to play the Coyotes in Sioux Falls. As far as the Jacks are concerned you know what they say about trying to beat a good team three times in a row. Lets make that task one that puts the Coyotes in the NCAA tourney.
