The women don't get as much attention as the men but I think for 3 days it would do us good to focus on the upcoming game with State. We have an opportunity to move into a conference tie with SDSU with a win.
What a fantastic job our coach has done a team that started with 3-4 season ending injuries. Coach Amy in my estimation has outdone herself, and shown to all that she belongs on this stage. We have a real opportunity here to finish strong, and head into the conference tourney with huge momentum and win that and GO DANCING.
Good luck ladies against State, and for the balance of the season. Lets make a concerted effort to get to Vermillion and back the Coyotes Wednesday night. We have a real shot at defeating a quality women's basketball program.

I couldn't agree more. These girls are playing their hearts out and these coaches are coaching their butts off. I am challenging ALL Coyote fans to get to the dome, and bring someone who hasn't seen this team in person. LOUD AND PROUD Wednesday night! We need ya NOW MORE THAN EVER!!!!!!

I also couldn't agree more. We saw on the 5TH, by the results on the floor and players tweets afterwards what a large and fully engaged crowd means to the players. Please give the Ladies the same support. Get to the Dome and cheer loudly!

Do you suppose girls ever say: LET'S KICK THEIR ASS?
I hope so, because I want to

At least there is some activity here this week! The women programs do not get as much attention as they should. However, I do hope that kicking the behinds of the Jacks does not eventuate. I was expecting about 1500 attendees for the game while the SDSU women realize the need to get this win for staying at the top of the standings. Hopefully the weather does not hurt the attendance and there are witnesses to the Jack victory . (You do have a good pick for the women's coach.)

Frost had about 3300 in attendance on January 6th. Anything less than THAT Coyote fans would be sad.

The 3300 at Frost were over the Christmas break. It is surprising that the women are not getting more support with the good conference year.

Let's go Yote Fans!!!! We need the Dome to be packed and rocking for this game! So how packed is the dome tonight? The Jackrabbits are accustomed to some noise in the auditorium or it may seem like a scrimmage.. We need the women to be serious tonight to keep first place alone. No sharing with yotes wanted.

I may be right or wrong about this but my feeling is that the tiebreaker would go to the Coyotes if they win tonight and both teams win out. In the NCC the tiebreaker was how your records were against the higher non tied team in the conference standing and on down to the lowest. If that tiebreaker is in place in the Summit the Yotes would win based on sweeping IUPUI vs the Jacks having one loss to the Jags. USD's other loss was to UMKC. Obviously alot could change and getting the #1 seed vs #2 might not be huge in the Summit Tourney but it's still kind of nice to be considered the top seed going in.
Just a note, the first tie breaker would be head to head record which would obviously be tied with a Yote win but SDSU would own any tiebreaker should they win tonight.

Too early to report on the attendance?

Looks like a very nice crowd. A little too much blue behind the Jacks bench but plenty of fired up Coyote fans.

Halftime 34-27 Jacks. The Yotes controlled much of the first 5 minutes or so but than SDSU outplayed USD for most of the rest of the half. It was 15-9 Yotes and the Jacks went on something like a 20-2 run. The Yotes hit an important 3 right before halftime to cut it to 7. The Jacks lead was as much as 12.

This game is far from over and I feel like the Yotes have alot of energy left in them. Just a reminder the Jacks had about an 8 point lead late in the game last year in Vermillion but the Coyotes rallied to win. So far in football and basketball the home team in this renewed rivalry is 7-0. The Yotes need to keep the streak alive.
