That's not the impression I got. It seemed to me like the recognition started by the bench in the Northwest corner because that is where the parents/players/faculty reps were. They stayed there during the video board presentation, which made sense to me as that is where the focus of the crowd was. Then they walked to the center of the court for pictures, facing the crowd, etc. Seemed planned to me, didn't seem like an issue.

Does anyone know if the Men finish in 7th place summit standings will they still make tournament due to Omaha still in transition? I am worried that we will not even make the tournament this year? Can someone refresh me on how many teams get into the tournament?

Can someone refresh me on how many teams get into the tournament? Omaha is not eligible, which leaves only eight teams to fill eight spots. On top of that, IUPUI is a mathematical lock for the 8th seed. Our worst-case scenario still puts us at the 7th seed.

I was there tonight as well as Thursday. The only word that describes the effort we put forth is awful. The student section is awful. The adult fans that showed up both nights were awful. The only positive sector is the band. You guys and gls are outstanding. Even the senior presentations were awful. As well as the recognition of our gals 08 basketball team and the 58 men's national championship teams. No film clip of the women at all. You have got to be kidding me. Recognize a team from 5 years ago and show no film. Hell, they didn't even know where to stand or go. That was Mickey Mouse, and I was embarrassed for them. They deserved better. The senior awards were given to the players in the corner of the gym? WTF? Why not half court? And our sound system, trying to hear what Boots had to say reminded me of Charlie Brown cartoons where they just mumble. There is one word that describes our program and fan base right now, and that word is APATHETIC. X

Why is it that people on this thread are taking shots at USD over and over again and seem to be able to get away with it without being banned. I don't understand the hypocricy.

I have no idea if that is a sincere post or a flame. I guess until I hear different I have to assume it's a flaming post. My last ban was because I said something that the admin took a different way then I meant it to be taken.

Why is it that people on this thread are taking shots at USD over and over again and seem to be able to get away with it without being banned. I don't understand the hypocricy. Because CF, most posters limit their posts to a paragraph or so. They also do not have a history of negative posts. When you post it is a half page long rant of the same things over and over. When someone brings up a counter point you post another half page diatribe brow beating them into submission of the same rantings over and over. This has been explained to you already and you still don't get it. As for the banning, I don't remember what it was you said. I haven't ever banned you. Really, I don't believe in banning but I will say the board operates better when you are not starting altercations in every thread and posting page long manifestos. So just keep things on the DL, post in discussions but don't dominate them.

Well, IPFW knocked off Oakland last night. They've played some strong basketball down the stretch, and I think they'll be far from an easy out at the SLT. Barring major upsets, Oakland's loss makes top-five seeding a bit clearer.
1. SDSU 2. WIU 3. NDSU 4. Oakland 5. IPFW
IUPUI has locked up the eight seed. USD and UMKC have identicial conference marks and identical remaining schedules: @ IUPUI and @ WIU. Again, UMKC holds the tiebreaker over USD, so the Coyotes would need to find an edge in these final two games. Assuming WIU holds serve at home, the best bet for USD to move past UMKC would be for IUPUI to knock off UMKC but not USD. Frankly, I'm not sure there's much of an advantage to gaining the six seed, as it's most likely a date with NDSU, the one league opponent for which USD seemingly has no answer (USD split with SDSU, split with Oakland, lost by 1 to WIU, and lost by 26 and 19 to NDSU). As I've said before, I'd probably rather take our chances against WIU, hope for the upset, and take advantage of the day off before round two.

According to AD staff today, with regards to the upcoming Summit League Basketball Tournament, the men’s basketball team will be either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed. As a result, they will play at 8:30 p.m. on either Saturday (if No. 7) or Sunday (if No. 6). If the team wins…it will play at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
With three games left, the women’s team is tied for third place, two games behind 2nd place. They are on track to play Sunday (March 10th) afternoon.

Deleted CF's post cause it was not needed.
In terms of the Summit seeding, the women being in third place is great considering there weren't really any expectations coming into the year with Hegge, Roche and Boss gone, a new coach and the injuries at the beginning of the year.
It's good to see the women doing as well as they are and I would think they have a legit shot at winning the tourney. Of course, SDSU is the favorite, but USD has a shot.

The non-conference bracketbuster games obviously had no impact on the SL standings, but there were a couple of player notes from the weekend worth mentioning.
Western Illinois' star center, Terell Parks, apparently hurt his ankle during WIU's loss to Cleveland State. I haven't heard any word on the status of that injury. That's a big loss for the Leathernecks if Parks is out or limited for the SLT. Again, WIU controls its owns seeding destiny. If the Leathernecks win out, they are a lock for no worse than a 2 seed (and could be a one seed if Omaha finds a way to knock off SDSU). Things could really get interesting if WIU somehow falls to UMKC and USD.
In SDSU news, Nate Wolters apparently struggled through some back spasms against Murray State. I haven't heard any further word on his condition. That would obviously be a big loss if he is limited or out.

Here's what happened to Wolters: About two-thirds of the way through the first half, Nate drove to the basket and Murray State's Ed Daniels got under him (not saying it was dirty...just a hard foul) and Nate came down hard on his hip and back. He was wincing as he got up slowly and from that point, it was obvious he was having some pain.
One of the announcers noted that halftime would not be good for Nate because he'll stiffen up. I think that showed in the second half.
I haven't heard a thing about how he's been doing since the game.
