Doc - I took the liberty to copy this post from the Cowboys message board. The only way the Yotes as a 7 seed got to host a game was to have the 8 seeded Cowboys make the semi's. "Okay, Detroit wins by 3 over Penn in the first semifinal. That means whoever wins between McNeese and South Dakota goes to Detroit. And that means, there won't be any streaming video because Detroit doesn't have video streaming of games.
Also, I want to bitch about the seeding of the teams in the tournament. The highest seed always gets a home game so with us rated 8th in the west, we were almost guaranteed no chance to host a game. I don't know who in the hell seeded this tournament and how in the hell they did but I decided to go look at the Sagarin's Ratings for women's basketball. And McNeese was the third highest rated team in this tournament. The only teams rated higher were South Dakota and Detroit. The seeding sucks because we never had an opportunity to host a home game.
Okay, rant over, Doc"To clarify, I dont' have a problem with having to go to Vermillion to play South Dakota because you guys were ahead of us in the Sagarin Rankings or having to go to Detroit, if we were to win. My problem was the earlier rounds and no opportunity to host a game because of the way we were seeded. Just look at some of the Sagarin Rankings of some of the other teams in the tournament. Hell, we were seeded worse than Lamar and we beat them at their place late in the season by 19 points. And that was with their best player healthy. I think she was injured against you guys. I guess I should be happy for the women to be in the tournament but I would have like to at least had an opportunity for a home game in the early rounds. Okay, rant over, Doc Could be because these tournaments go by RPI instead of the Sag rating. Don't know where everyone sits with RPI, so I don't know how much that helps. I don't agree with it, either, since the RPI is outdated and awful, just ask the MWC, which was the top rated conference according to RPI.

ESPN on my tablet shows USD 36, McNeese St 26 with a little over a minute in the half.
Not able to find the game on the radio in the Watertown area. Any suggestions?

Please Coyote Admin can we go in another direction at broadcaster next year. I can only take so many "foooooey's" in one broadcast. Are we listening to an actual D1 team here or a broadcast of a 5th grade elementary school game. USD deserves much better.
It's a good thing the team is performing much better than the radio call tonight so far. Yotes lead 43-33 with 13:26 to go in the game.

To the McNeese State fans, congrats on a nice win. You have an impressive team, best of luck on Saturday in Detroit. The best way to show they had the seeding wrong, is to WIN, and you've sure done that.
And hats off to the Yotes, on a very successful year. Coach Williams (Coach of the Year in the Summit League, I don't care what anybody says) is laying the foundation for success. Go get'em in the offseason, and can't wait to see the team next year! Thanks again to the seniors!

Good game, guys. I thought we were in trouble in the first half and the beginning of the second half because you guys play good defense and we couldn't hit a shot.
But Baggetts hate to lose and are relentless when they get it going.
Damn, I'm going to miss watching those twins play next season.
Good luck next season. May we meet again.

Oh, and thanks to RJ on his call. Hey, to each his own, but I enjoy listening to RJ.
I even listened to him over the ESPN ladies, during the Summit League championship.
Will be back listening in the fall, when FB season is back!

Great first year for the new coach. I like the way it sets up for her to recruit good players and generate even greater enthusiasm for the program. Well done.

Well done Cowgirls. Down by 8 at the half on the road. Came back in the second half with swarming defense. We had few open shots and the open shots we had weren't falling. I'll be cheering for you against Detroit.
Congrats on a fine season Yotes!

You are in a very small minority on this. It gets old having you come on here and whine and complain about it. If you don't like his announcing, I have a simple solution. Don't listen and actually COME to a game for once. No excuses. This one was at home. You say you want someone that bleeds coyote red, he is the man for that. He is a die hard. You say he is too much of a homer? Check out the highlights on ESPN when they show top plays and have the audio of the teams radio announcers. This is college and pro teams. They are going nuts. For as much time as they spend on the road with them, they end up getting pretty close and attached. That is part of the game. RJ does a great job and I already can't wait for football season. Heck of a season for the Lady Coyotes. They were a fun team to watch.

Great season Yotes! Appreciate all you have accomplished in a complicated year.
Interesting comment from the McNeese St. coach from a column in the P&D:
That’s been the story of this McNeese State squad that admitted to being offended at receiving a No. 8 seed in the WBI. The Cowgirls have now won games in Georgia (Mercer), North Carolina (Elon) and South Dakota.
Where would the win in South Dakota rank?
“This was the toughest, no question about it,” coach Donald-Williams said. “The fan base here is amazing. This environment is a true post-season environment; by far the biggest coliseum we’ve played in in this tournament.”
///Now, I don't want to hear from bunny fans about your attendance numbers, etc. We have heard all about it over, and over, and over.... ad nauseam///
But I think it is a noteworthy comment from a quality source. BTW, as reported earlier, McNeese lost the Southland conference championship to ORU in front of 933 fans.
The Dome is not a good BBall venue and the new arena will be a tremendous improvement for our teams, and fans.
